This document post highlights a timeline of misconduct, negligence, and retaliation by the Roseville Police Department and City officials.
Many other affected parties have been silenced.
Key Incidents
1. 2013 – Wrongful Property Seizure, illegal arrest,
illegal property seizer, intentionally documenting
false & misleading information.
• Detective Mitchell Berlin provided false
information to seize a family’s home.
• A federal judge ruled against Berlin, citing
civil rights violations.
• Despite this misconduct, Berlin was later
promoted to Police Chief.
2. January 2025 – Mishandling of Missing Person
Case (Ashley Elkins)
• Ashley Elkins disappeared on January 2,
2025 (the author’s birthday).
• Roseville PD delayed searching critical
locations for five days despite urgency.
• Ashley’s body was never recovered.
• The community continues to ask: could she
have been alive during the delay?
3. November 2023 – Sexual Assault & Mishandled
Investigation
• The author was r***d by a Detroit area
realtor.
• Report filed in November of 2023 with
Roseville PD.
• Detective Jacob Sidaway discredited the
survivor, ignored evidence, and closed the
case without accountability.
• Following this, the survivor faced
harassment, surveillance, and intimidation —
in some cases by officers themselves.
Patterns of Misconduct
• Negligence & Gross Negligence: Delayed
responses, mishandled investigations.
• Reckless Endangerment: Ignored safety risks
to victims and community.
• Slander & Defamation: Public humiliation of
survivors during council meetings.
• Abuse of Authority: Surveillance, intimidation,
and procedural retaliation.
• Systemic Cover-ups: Perfunctory “reviews”
without real accountability.
Impact on the Community
• Survivors and families left unprotected and
retraumatized.
• Businesses and community projects (like The
Ethel House) sabotaged.
• Ongoing emotional, financial, and safety
damages to residents.
• Public trust in Roseville PD eroded.
Call to Action
The Roseville community and allies are urged to:
• Hold city officials accountable for negligence
and cover-ups, predatory, and discriminatory
behaviors.
