THERAPIST SPOTLIGHT! Meet Amy Horning a marriage and family therapist trainee at HOPE Counseling!
HOPE: What do you want to offer your clients?
Amy: My approach is strength- based and collaborative, applying tools from various models. I draw upon my previous experience as a teacher, nanny, and foster youth care driver when working with youth in a therapeutic setting. You are the expert in your life, and I will act as guide to assist you in the challenging areas of your life.
My specialty areas include person-centered, relational, and humanistic therapies.
● Youth and young adult counseling
● Self-esteem, self-identity issues, and lack of confidence
● Trauma and inner-child healing
● Couples, family, and relationships

Wen: I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families.
I will leverage my professional training in therapy with my life experience as a retired business executive. Some of my focus areas are:
Personal relationships (couples, families, friends)
Grief / Trauma
Life transitions (marriage, divorce, retirement, etc.)

LAW AND ETHICS TRAINING IS NOW AVAILABLE!

Beginning January 1, 2023 ALL Associates must take a 3hr CEU course in Law and Ethics every renewal until licensed.

HOPE Counseling and Darlene Davis, LMFT, LPCC are offering this training on January 27, 2023 9a-12:15p InPerson and/or Zoom

Refresher on Confidentiality and limits to Confidentiality

How to Communicate with Divorced or Separated Parents

Group Discussion using Vignettes


By the end of the course you will have:

1. Have up to date knowledge of any laws and ethics that have been updated in the last year

2. Site examples of Confidentiality and when you have to break Confidentiality.

3. Have three examples of best ways to communicate with divorced or separated parents.

4. Opportunities to determine best legal and ethical outcomes using group discussions.
