Facing Addiction
Friend --

Tonight, President Obama made a powerful statement in the first three minutes of his State of the Union address, asking Congress to face addiction and take action on one of the largest health crises facing our country. Calling it a "bi-partisan" issue the President said it is one of only a handful of things he believes Congress will work with him on.

It was your dedication and hard work that helped bring tens of thousands to the National Mall last October. With the President’s statement this evening, we are already seeing the incredible impact brought about by your commitment. Tonight we are releasing a special clip from that historic day from President Obama's Director of The Office of National Drug Control Policy, Michael Botticelli, on the importance of your voice in making significant policy change a reality:

Facing
Addiction

Facing Addiction is dedicated to finding solutions to the addiction crisis by unifying the voices of the over 45 million Americans and their families impacted by addiction. With the President of the United States now facing addiction out loud, our movement has gained a tremendous partner and ally in our endeavor to bring this public health crisis to an end in our lifetime.

Please click here to share this video on Facebook and pledge your support to make sure President Obama and Congress will work together in 2016 to support better solutions for the more than 22 million Americans struggling with addiction, and the more than 23 million Americans living in recovery!

Sample Post: "In the first three minutes of the State of the Union address, President Obama cited our nation's growing prescription drug and he**in epidemic, declaring it a bi-partisan priority. That's what happens when we come together, end the silence and start Addiction together - the leader of the free world takes notice."

Let's show the President our gratitude for his commitment to addressing the issue of addiction and recovery. Together, with help of our allies across the country and leaders in Washington DC, we are facing addiction.

Regards,

The Facing Addiction Team
