Henna by Amy Welcome to Henna by Amy! I offer beautifully intricate henna designs at a beautifully affordable cost. Mehndi is a Magical Art." Email: Henna_by_Amy@yahoo.com

"The earliest cosmetic use of henna (lawsonia inermis) was in Egypt, where the people would dye their hair and nails, and a Pharaoh's fingers and toes would be dipped before mummification. Once the henna plant's cooling properties were discovered, painting the skin and dying the hair with henna became a way for the people in desert climates to cool their body temperature. For centuries mehndi has been practiced in Africa, India, Asia, the Middle East, and Central Eurasia for various ceremonies and celebrations. Today mehndi is still practiced in many diverse ways, from eccentric body decoration, to healing ceremonies. Message or Email, any time, to set up a relaxing session.

Did you ever wonder what real world flower the standard 90s-2000s Arabic "henna flower" is based on? I think I may have just found the answer!!! It is Eglantine! And its Victorian language of flowers meaning is pretty intense... "I wound to heal."

For all fellow henna artists! Stock up while supplies last! I love to make my own organic henna paste, and Artistic Adornment is my personal favorite retailer for all henna supplies! They have the freshest crop that is sure to leave the darkest stain!

Fellow connoisseurs of awesome hennas and appreciators of a good henn-tage!!!

We think you may want to stock up on Mohana 2014.

The Mohana 2015 (Fall) crop was affected by the heavier than usual rains in the area this year, and the dye content is not up to our very high standards.

We therefore will not be purchasing the 2015 Mohana fall crop in bulk for resale.

But there is also good news!!!!

We have plenty of Mohana 2014 in stock, because we could see the potential for this happening due to the rainfall, so we stocked up like crazy!!!!

(The rains did not affect Rajasthan, where Artistic Organic comes from, so the 2015 crop of that is still amazing - on par with Mohana 2014.)

In the meantime, for anyone who wants to stock up on Mohana 2014, we're having a special 3-day (Sat+Sun+Mon) sale on 2kg quantities.

It's $120 for 2kg.

Here's the link to that:

Yup...that's us defying the laws of supply and demand, lowering the price when we know demand is going to get high...because we want to be sure to reward those of you who are paying attention :)

Hi everyone! Sorry that I have not made a post in a very long time. As many of you know, I am a student midwife putting myself through school; and my main focus has been finishing this past module of school.

If you would like to have a henna day, my phone number is 512-961-0278; call or text anytime. I'm available to do henna Wednesday - Friday, all day. I do need 36-24 hours notice because I make my own organic henna paste!
I charge $20 for henna application on either both hands, both feet, or one hand and one foot. For a back piece I charge $40, as it uses more henna. I'd love to hear your design ideas too! I can copy almost any design you find; but also do my own designs.
I look forward to hearing from you! Xoxo
