I love these pictures of our flowers taken by from last year, a reminder that more flowers will soon be blooming!

We are already seeing signs of the plants around us making their very welcome return after a long, cold winter. It’s funny how that works. Right around the time when it feels like maybe it’ll just be winter forever, the birds start chirping, the insects start buzzing around, and the trees slowly start budding and blossoming.

Even as a farmer, someone who lives so close to the land, this transition never ceases to amaze me.

In addition to the change in seasons, my new group program cohort has been totally inspiring. We are a few weeks in and the momentum is powerful. Some of the wins we are celebrating together include: weight loss, decreased sugar levels, weaving new foods and nourishing meals into family routines, and so much more.

Claytonia is our favorite green to grow and it is bursting to life in the high tunnel! Last Monday, we took apart some old chicken coops, and Asa started building a new coop inspired by Joel Salatin’s design (), but adapted to fit our own needs and lessons learned over the years.

The goal is to make it easy to move the chickens to fresh pasture each week. While Asa measured, cut, and built, I spent time in the high tunnel-despite the 100-degree heat-pulling w**ds, laying down landscape fabric (I’ve finally accepted that I can’t keep up with the w**ds!), setting up irrigation, and starting to lay cardboard for mulch along the berry rows (wood chips will go on top soon, since w**d whacking only goes so far).

We enjoyed the sun, took breaks to appreciate the blooming trout lilies, and snacked on claytonia from the greenhouse. As time and inspiration allow, we’ll keep working on these projects throughout the week, but the weekend and our next Monday will be when we really dig in again!

Is the term Regenerative Health something new for you? It is one of the most commonly asked questions I receive when I tell people about my work.

✨What is Regenerative Health? ✨

At its core, Regenerative Health is an approach to understanding the root cause of illness and imbalance in the human body.

Oftentimes folks are led to this approach when they are suffering and have been unable to identify the root cause of their symptoms. This was my story.

I had been dealing with common ailments, chronic, and cyclical conditions for years. I felt alone, lost and frustrated. I had been examined, diagnosed, prescribed, and sent to specialist after specialist - but never received an answer to why my body was screaming.

Finally, I found a way forward.

Through the combination of foundational nutrition, supplementation, detox, groundbreaking science, behavioral strategies, and mindset practices I was able to revitalize my body’s ability to heal itself and come back into balance, naturally.

Regenerative Health enabled me to get to a deeper level of understanding of my body from the cellular level. I was able to identify the causes of my suffering and I made simple shifts in my life which led to radical change.

I want to note that the changes I’ve experienced in my own health were immediately noticeable with every shift I made, detox or cleanse I’ve done - but it is a slow gentle process and a lifelong journey.

Now, as a Certified Regenerative Health Practitioner, Food Educator, and Organic Farmer, I help my clients learn how to decode the messages of their body and implement simple, effective changes to enable healing from within.

What does your self-care practice look like? It can be something as small as journaling five minutes before bed, or starting your day with simple movement - stretching or taking a walk with the dog.

My self-care practice includes a number of things (which maybe you’ve seen on here) including taking time to take my supplements. It’s a daily practice. At this point, it has become such an integrated part of my life, but for folks looking to start somewhere, it’s a beautiful way to honor your body and care for yourself.

A few of my must haves include:

🍊🥕🍎🫚 That color puts a smile on my face. Cold-pressed, organic juice. So many good things (vitamins, antioxidants, minerals) packed into that jar. I prepared this O(CAGT)J for an event I recently catered.

Orange - we love that vitamin C! This fruit not only supports our immune systems but can also help reduce chronic disease, keep us hydrated, and aid in digestion.

Carrots - they get their color partly from beta-carotene, which is in the carotenoid family of antioxidants. Beta-carotene has been shown to help prevent age-related eye diseases, as well as help to produce vitamin A in the body, which is vital for boosting your body’s defense system.

Apple: A nutrient-dense fruit! To get the most out of apples, leave the skin on, as it contains half of the fiber and most of the polyphenols.

Ginger: Digestive health! A great aid for settling an upset stomach - and also an anti-inflammatory.

Turmeric: A powerful anti-inflammatory.
