I'm aware of the amount of spiritual performance on social media. I am that my work may also seem performative but in a white world of fake shamans and certified healers. I felt the need to take up original space. Not as a shaman but as a healer. It's taken me 10+ years to pull the material from the ethereal and spiritual realm (much like the tarot card Ace of Wands) Video has become a beautiful form of art that showcases my work, that brings it out from the unseen to the seen, and for that I am grateful. Hello ! ;)
Yes, I've trained in handshands-oning from an institution but ,he spiritual guidance and drive had always been there. I learned from observing my great aunts'reposition babies with a rebozo as a child. My grandmother's, mi abuela Angelina and mi abuela Elvira were both sobadoras (people who massage) at some point in their lives. They both have a green thumb and an affinity to plants and herbs.
This is my inheritance. This is why it's ancestral because chances are they learned and inherited this intuitive wisdom from their grandmother's and their gradmothers before them.
Massage is one of the oldest "professions" in the world. It has ancient roots in Egypt, India, China, Greece, and Rome. Mexico alone has different types of massage and healers such as bones setters, curanderos, sobadoras.
Womb work and post partum care have been ancient practices kept and passed down through knowledge of midwifery. I read that colonial friars acknowledged the sanctity of reproduction and birth and dared not mess with midwifery, and so thei wisdom stayed and became sacredly guarded by the matriarchs
Yoni steaming, vaginal steaming , or bajos are practiced all around the world from Morocco to Africa to Mexico. An ancient yet somple.and effective way to detox and heal the body through the use of steaming and herbs also guarded and passed down through the matriarchs.
