~Mahatma Gandhi. Lily’s former life is a mystery, however it is obvious that she is a product of today’s society. We so often turn our face from the abuse and neglect inflicted on the innocent. Her new beginning started the day she found herself in a shelter near Atlanta, GA. Lily was within hours of
being euthanized when a group of rescuers looked beyond her disability and found a beautiful young soul who deserved a second chance. We do not know what lead up to Lily being taken into the shelter, however we do know her life up to this point was not that of a loved and cared for puppy. She has lost the use of her rear legs, is very malnourished, has demodectic mange as well as an unidentified infection. We are now on a mission to grant Lily her wish, to walk again. Amazingly, her spirit and zest for life obviously remain intact. We promise Lily she will never know hunger or neglect again. Dogs are remarkably resilient and forgiving creatures. We humans could learn so much from them if we would only open our eyes and our hearts.
