📣 Heads up, everyone! The recent federal spending package — the one that ended the government shutdown — includes a major shake-up for the h**p industry.
Story here- https://ow.ly/M39l50Xt5jR
🧱 What’s changing:
Products derived from h**p but containing any intoxicating cannabinoids (or more than 0.4 mg total THC per container) may be reclassified and could become federally illegal.
The rules won’t kick in until 365 days after the law is signed — which means there’s a year to gear up.
These changes could override existing state laws (ex: higher THC limits in some states) and impact farms, retailers, and makers up and down the supply chain.
🛑 Why this matters for us (and our customers):
As a forward-thinking product line (Redfern H**p Co.) that works with h**p-derived compounds, we’re operating in a watch-and-prepare mode.
This may affect businesses product development, inventory, sourcing, disclaimers, and maybe pricing or shelf strategy.
Our entire community—from farmers to retailers to consumers—is feeling the uncertainty. One moment we’re riding the wave, the next we’re building contingency plans.
We want to stay transparent: We’ll keep you updated, pivot where needed, and keep doing our best to stay compliant and aligned with the lifestyle & values of our team, and owner Graham Redfern.
✅ What you can do (as a supporter / customer):
Sign the H**p Petition if you haven't already, if you come into Redfern Market it is located by the register as well as on the front door for quick QR code scanning.
Spread the word: This isn’t just about one brand — it affects the whole h**p ecosystem. When people understand it, they support it.
🎯 Final word: Change is coming. But the market doesn’t shut off overnight. We’ve got time. Let’s use it wisely. We’ll adapt, push innovation, and keep delivering high-quality product experiences for you.
