RRMC is pleased to recognize two nurses who were recently awarded the DAISY Award: Courtney Collins received the Nurse Leader Award and Heather McRae for the DAISY Nurse Educator award.

Courtney Collins, BSN, RN, CEN, Emergency Department – Courtney was nominated as a leader who inspires trust, cultivates growth, and models excellence. “Professional development is a cornerstone of Courtney's leadership. She has excelled in implementing educational opportunities that meet the needs of team members at all levels, encouraging ongoing learning and growth, and broadening and improving clinical and professional skills.”

Heather McRae, MSN-Ed, RN, PCCN, MedSurg-BC, NPD-BC, Education & Clinical Excellence – As an educator Heather consistently assists students with their continuing education, and supports nurses to foster improvement and growth. “Heather’s feedback during regular progress meetings is always supportive and encouraging. She is always professional and patient with everyone and sensitive to individual learning needs.”

Rutland Regional is pleased to share that we recently awarded two nurses the DAISY Individual Award, which recognizes nurses for the extraordinary and compassionate care that they provide to patients in their practice environment. Congratulations to Ginger Vaughn and Tonah Clairmont!

Ginger Vaughn, RN, Surgical Care Unit – Ginger was nominated by a patient who recognized Ginger as a true example of nursing excellence. “Ginger advocated for me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. They made sure my voice was heard, and they maintained my dignity and independence with every step. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed in a hospital setting, but Ginger never let me feel like 'just another patient.'”

Tonah Clairmont, RN, Birthing Center – Tonah’s nomination highlighted her incredible, encouraging, and positive attitude while helping during the patient’s labor. “I felt so empowered with Tonah by my side. My birth was truly such a wonderful, positive experience.”

We are pleased to recognize RRMC employees Faith Stone and Heather Rathbun with the Good Citizen Award. Thank you, Faith and Heather, for your quick thinking and decision-making.

Faith Stone, Director and Heather Rathbun, Front Office Assistant, West Ridge Center were recently recognized with a Good Citizen Award for administering lifesaving Narcan to an individual near the West Ridge Clinic. They remained with the individual until stabilization, ensuring that the person was not alone and had continuous support.

In the fourth quarter of FY25, Rutland Regional is pleased to recognize Cassidy Nolan and Christopher Morrill for the Petal Award, which honors licensed nursing assistants, administrative assistants, environmental services staff, biomed and engineering staff, therapists, food services staff, medical assistants, and technologists who have contributed to providing the best patient care and care environment. Congratulations, Cassidy and Christopher!

Cassidy Nolan, Technician, Emergency Department was recently recognized with a Petal Award for taking the time with a patient to explain a medical procedure and making sure the patient was comfortable and understood the process. The patient praised Cassidy for being "really good at her job." Her gentleness and empathy helped the patient during a difficult time and made them feel cared for in a compassionate and professional way.

Christopher Morrill, Nutrition Technician, Food & Nutrition Services was recently recognized with a Petal Award for working with pride and attention to detail. It was noted that Christopher has a clear understanding of the importance of good food for good health. He is recognized for being kind and attentive and taking time with patients to engage with them when he delivers their food. It was noted that patients "light up" when they see him.

Each quarter, Rutland Regional recognizes two individuals who have embraced our organization’s values and consistently exemplify them. Congratulations to Justin Fleming and Michelle Wilcox, our fourth quarter Employee of the Quarter recipients!

Justin Fleming, Plumber, Maintenance & Engineering was recognized for his collaboration and teamwork, and for consistently demonstrating RRMC values in all aspects of his work. Justin’s peers shared that he is caring and compassionate, has great customer service, strives for excellence and is innovative in completing various projects and tasks. Justin’s support of our facility needs across the organization helps our care teams provide safe, exceptional, and compassionate care every day.

Michelle Wilcox, Accreditation Specialist, Quality and Safety was joined by members of the Quality and Safety team when she was recognized for her focused professionalism and expertise with regards to hospital accreditation. Michelle’s successful facilitation and management of visits from the Joint Commission and other evaluators were also highlighted. Michelle’s commitment and dedication have supported RRMC clinicians in continually enhancing the care we provide.
