Breastfeeding is beautiful. It has so many wonderful benefits, the design of changing milk exactly for your baby, your body feeding your baby.. another magic happening.
It can also be hard and for many very challenging.
We have hard time asking for support and when we do we might not get great answers from the ones close to us because many of our moms and grandmas were discouraged from breastfeeding and maybe haven’t done it at all.
When you get the right support this is so much more doable and beautiful.

June Birth circle ☀️🍓

I would love to see you and chat together about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and anything that motherhood brings!
We will meet at Mark Youngdahl, Conservation Area by the first picnic shelter. Bring a blanket and a snack to share.
Kids are welcome to come and play around us!

This is a FREE event! If you can, please RSVP - it’s just nice to know how many mamas are coming but it’s not required!

Happy International Homebirth Day!

How fun that we have this day to celebrate! I am so thankful for birthing at my own safe place - at home, with the people I love, freedom in everything, comfort and options for food, people,... and the snuggling right after in my comfortable bed.

These are pictures from my second birth - first home birth. Life changing. Baby born encaul, my best friend was there as the best encouragement even though she made it for the last 10 minutes, Myriam witnessed birth for the first time which influenced her that she want to be a midwife now. She was born into the song that’s playing in this post.
I will need to share my birth stories because I don’t think I did on this page.

This session reminded me so much of what family photos are truly for.
Not for the perfect pose or a new profile picture.They’re for you — for your heart, for your memories, for the moments that make your life.
And it’s the same reason I feel so deeply about capturing all seasons of your life too — postpartum, maternity, birth.
These chapters deserve to be remembered just as they are.
Unposed. Unfiltered. Unforgettable.

My dreams come true 🤍
All I wanted since I was little was to be a mom. Even though it stretches me so thin and it came with the most awful pain of loosing a child, they also gave me the biggest joy, pride and love in life. Nothing can top the feeling of holding your babies for the first time, babies sleeping on your chest or being told “I love you, mommy”, “You are the best mom in the world”.

This baby girl celebrated her first birthday last week and the first photo of her caught by midwife who is handing her immediately to her mom says so much about what birth photography is - it brings emotions, you can feel it through the photo and you can relive meeting your baby again. It’s relief, love, admiration, marvel, shock…time just stopped and you are trying to catch up to what just happened and that your baby is out waiting for you to hold her and never let go.

Throwback to my trip to Czech Republic where you can take photos literally anywhere and the background will be like fairytale.
I met with my friends on the side of the road of this forest by my parent’s house. I drove by million times. There are lots of side roads and places to park to go hiking or pick mushroom and blueberries. I couldn’t find on Google maps this one place I had in mind but just figured we will try this one. It worked out even better. And my beautiful friends from high school welcomed their second baby girl to their family just few weeks after we took these photos.

Throughout history, women gathered to share their birth stories, breastfeeding journeys, and wisdom gained from their years of mothering. There was value in learning from one another, sharing in the struggles and celebrating the gift of becoming a mother. This formative tradition has been forgotten over time and we want to change it!

Perfect details of a fresh new life. When you think about it and look and touch their tiny hands, feet or their ankles, collar bones.. you see them breathe, move.. how incredible that just about 35 weeks ago they were a size of an orange seed (5weeks of pregnancy).

One day you are looking at your baby on an ultrasound or touching your belly dreaming about how he/she will look. The next you are holding the and marvel at their tiny little features.
