Song for Charlie: Monthly Newsletter
January 2022

2022 will be a pivotal year for the fentanyl awareness movement, and Song for Charlie will be at the center of the action. We continue to expand our reach and deepen our relationships with partners who can help us our push our message out to kids and parents. We strive to be the preferred resource for accurate information that kids, parents and educators can use to navigate the increasingly dangerous drug landscape.

FACTS ABOUT FENTANYL
We are pleased to share a new website resource, called “Facts About Fentanyl.” This content has been thoroughly researched by the SFC Team, and then reviewed by 10 outside experts with varied backgrounds, including; law enforcement, prevention, harm reduction, medicine, toxicology and recovery. If you have questions about fake pills and fentanyl, this should be your first stop.

IMPACT ON YOUTH
We have taken on the task of analyzing publicly available data through the lens of the impact of fentanyl on our youth. On our “Current Data” our website has been updated to included the most recently available data (2020).

TOOLKIT FOR SCHOOLS
This month Song for Charlie released a Middle School and High School Toolkit, which consolidates everything schools need to raise awareness amongst their students and communities all in one place. Our toolkit includes classroom teaching material, resources for student assemblies & town halls, social media resources, printable flyers, and more! Schools can mix and match the content to create an awareness program that best fits their community, and ALL of our resources are FREE!

SOCIAL MEDIA
We focused on our TikTok profile in December, and we are thrilled with the results. We started the month with 158 followers and currently stand at over 14,000. Our Real or Fake Pill Quiz has 2.3 million views and counting. Thanks to all our contributors and to the Team at TikTok for your support!
