Happy full moon day! This is actually the 1st of 2 full moons we will get in May. And it's extra significant because today is Beltane, a beautiful celebration recognizing the full shift into spring and warmer weather... along with the promise all of that brings for months ahead.

I wanted to share an article from the Writual Workbook that resonated with me, as these two events intertwine tonight. I hope it lands for you, too.

Full Moon in Scorpio

The first full moon of May falls in Scorpio on Beltane, so May begins with both fire festivals and deep emotional work. Ta**us season encourages us to build and care for what we can see, but Scorpio’s full moon draws us into the roots, into the dark soil where things break down and change before they can support new growth.

Scorpio represents the parts of ourselves we rarely discuss openly. This full moon invites you to notice what you’ve kept hidden because it felt overwhelming or uncomfortable. Maybe it’s a longing that frightens you, anger you’ve tried to hide, grief you’ve set aside, or a strong desire you’ve ignored because facing it would mean taking action.

This isn’t meant as punishment. Scorpio doesn’t bring you into your depths to make you feel ashamed. It does so because your real strength is found in the parts of yourself you’ve tried to control or hide. The full moon asks: What if you stopped holding back?

Notice where you’ve chosen safety over honesty, or comfort over truth. Maybe you’ve avoided going deeper because it would mean admitting that something has changed or ended, or that something needs to shift. Ta**us encourages steady growth, but Scorpio asks if you’re building on a strong foundation or on something that should have been let go long ago.

This full moon is a time to let go of what no longer fits you. Maybe it’s an old identity, a relationship that’s become routine, or the idea that your intensity is something to be sorry for. Scorpio understands that some things only change when we fully release them, and this moon gives you permission to let go of what’s ready to leave.

Beltane’s fires rise as Scorpio’s waters draw you inward. Both are important. Celebrate what is thriving and let go of what has ended. That is the real work.

𝗔 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 & 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

On May 1st, 2026, something rare happens.

Beltane and the Full Flower Moon land on the same night. A Celtic fire festival and a full moon named for abundance and bloom, arriving together... fire and flower, heat and sweetness, the bonfire and the garden, both at their peak on the same evening.

This doesn't happen often. But when it does, my dear... you work with it.

Beltane is the oldest fire festival of the turning year, the night the veil thins toward life, just as Samhain thins toward death.

Beltane is about desire and greenness and the particular wildness of things that have been growing quietly all spring and are finally, irrevocably, ready.

The Flower Moon is her counterpart... the full moon of what blooms like gifts, named for the abundance that arrives whether or not you were expecting it.

Together, on May Day, they are asking you one question: 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦?

What is 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 growing in the dark and is ready, right now, this night... to come into the light?

That's the spell. That's what we're calling in.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗

✤ A candle: red for Beltane fire, gold for abundance, white if that's what you have
✤ Fresh flowers: whatever May is offering you. Hawthorn if you can find it, roses, lilac, dandelion, anything alive and in bloom right now
✤ A small dish of honey: Beltane's oldest offering, older than any name for the festival
✤ Something to write with and a small piece of paper

⋅⋅⋅──────⋅✤⋅──────⋅⋅⋅

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗴

Begin at dusk if you can... Beltane starts at sundown, and this is her night as much as the moon's.

Arrange your flowers around the base of the candle. Loosely, generously... this is a celebration, after all. Let them tumble. Let it look like May.

Place the honey dish in front of the candle. Dip your finger in it, just the tip, and touch it to your lips before you begin. You're tasting the offering before you give it. You're reminding yourself what abundance actually feels like in the body. Sweet, specific, real.

Now write on the paper... a declaration. In the present tense, as if it has already arrived: 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧... and then finish the sentence with the thing that is ready. The thing that has been growing all spring. The thing you planted back at the Pink Moon or the Aries New Moon or even further back than that, in some winter dark you'd rather not revisit.

Name it as if it's here. Because tonight, it's close enough to touch.

Fold the paper once (toward you, always toward you when calling something in) and tuck it beneath the honey dish. Set it under the sweetness and leave it there.

Light the candle.

Watch the flame for a moment... this is Beltane fire, ancient and deliberate. It burned on every hillside in Ireland and Scotland and Wales before anyone thought to call it a festival. It still means what it always meant: 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨.

Then say:

Beltane Fire and Flower Moon,
what I've grown is ready soon.

Let the candle burn as long as the evening allows. If you can be outside with it... even just a doorstep, even just a window open wide enough to hear the night... do that.

Beltane has always been an outdoor festival. She doesn't mind your flat but she does prefer fresh air.

When the candle is done, take the flowers outside and leave them on the earth. Pour the honey after them... give it back. Keep the paper somewhere safe until what you named has fully arrived. Then burn it in gratitude.

𝗔 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘

Beltane is the festival of what 𝘪𝘴, not what might be. The flowers are spring, fully expressed, holding nothing back. The fire is warmth, complete and immediate.

And this night is the night you're blooming, on purpose.

The fire will be lit. The moon will be full. The flowers will be out.

You know what will be ready.

Ta**us season started April 19th and goes until May 22nd - I don't know about you, but I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders this week. I love the rush of Aries season, the motivation to get sh*t done, and the energy surge of it ... however, this year, we had 7 planets in Aries at some point in April, and it was A LOT. Ta**us energy supports us as we settle in, root into what we've created, and stabilize what we started. We get permission to enjoy the luxuries of life, and as the weather turns and we reconnect with nature, we can slow down and do what we do best... breathe.

So to all my Ta**us souls out there, welcome to your birthday season!
