Just what and who is Kona's Kitchen? Let's be perfectly clear, and start with what it ISN'T. Kona's Kitchen is NOT a restaurant, and Kona's Kitchen does NOT sell pet food. But Kona's Kitchen DOES serve up healthful, natural food for thought. In other words, Kona's Kitchen serves EDUCATION, and we serve it on a platter! Kona's Kitchen is a small, northern California based consulting business inspir
ed by owner and founder Leith Henry's lifelong love of animals, combined with her core philosophy that good food is inexorably linked to good health. Now just who is Leith Henry? Also known as "The Food Guru," Leith is a Certified Integrative Nutrition Wellness Coach, a Certified Small Animal Natural Health Coach and Naturopath, Published Author (Dogs Naturally Magazine), and Animal Rights Advocate. Areas of special interest and study include Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems, TCM principles of Food Therapy and Herbology, Ayurvedic principles of Food Therapy and Herbology, Nutrigenomics, and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition. Leith collaborates with veterinarians and pet guardians around the globe, sharing her natural wisdom in an effort to encourage an animal's innate ability to balance and heal itself, and prevent or mitigate states of dis-ease, by aligning with nature through the use of targeted, species-appropriate, nutrient-dense, seasonally varied whole foods of the highest quality. Leith belongs to Kona, a 15 year old pit bull mix, and original inspiration behind Kona's Kitchen, who is always the Boss Lady and forever a Friend. Kona's bright eyes and giant personality keep Leith on her toes, as does Kona's little sister, Hana Manu, an 8 year old bluenose pit bull, rescued from extreme abuse. Their unique, ever-changing wellness requirements combined with their loving energy and effervescence inspire Leith's ongoing thirst for knowledge and continued education in the ever-evolving, multifaceted wellness field. Leith is not a veterinarian, and the information provided by Kona's Kitchen is not intended to replace a veterinarian's advice or prescribed medications. Rather, Leith works hand-in-hand with veterinarians, with the animal's unique and complex nature taking center stage. It is Leith's belief that the physical, spiritual, emotional, and environmental aspects of life are closely interconnected and equally important to bringing your companion animal's system into harmony. Therefore, a typical consultation protocol may include, but not be limited to, modalities such as TCVM principles of food therapy, Ayurvedic concepts of food as medicine, homeopathy, herbology, flower essences, color therapy, crystal therapy, and Body Talk. Kona's Kitchen also encourages pet parents to utilize its extensive referral network of "earth friendly" and "humane" wellness product manufacturers and providers. Leith provides thorough and purposeful guidance, and is fully dedicated to healing in partnership with nature, set in the context of respect and compassion for all of Mother Earth's living creatures. Leith is available for phone consultations only at this time.
