Spring Clean Out! It's almost officially Big Day of Giving! Meet another one of the folks of our Board of Directors! Ellen is our secretary and an integral part of shaping this next chapter of The Root as a non-profit. Ellen is a huge cheerleader for the work that we do, having had her son right when lockdowns went into effect in 2020. What a time to be a new parent, right? We are thrilled to have her support of the space as we evolve into the new version of what The Root will continue to look like.

Here's a little bit from one of our newest board members, Nancy about what she got from The Root as a participant and why she supports our ongoing mission! I am so proud of watching how Nancy advocated for herself and her needs during her pregnancy and ended up having a smooth delivery at a different hospital than she originally planned to birth at. She brings phenomenal grant writing skills to our Board of Directors and we are thrilled to have her join us as we expand.
As she says - the kind of care and support and community that The Root provides is not often accessible to all birthing families, and The Root as a now 501(c)3 non-profit is here to change that!

If you've communicated with us via email, you've probably chatted with the incomparable Maggie! Maggie is one of our biggest cheerleaders, having taken classes with us during her first pregnancy and now operating both as Kellie's assistant and as our resident Postpartum Pelvic Floor & Core teacher - helping our postpartum parents get their strength back on Tuesdays at Noon. She is also expecting her second little one this summer and juggling all of the things seamlessly.
We can't wait to meet our newest Root Family baby this summer and we are so grateful for Maggie's support of the studio's mission.
A donation in Maggie's name honors all of the work she puts into this community and will allow further our mission in allowing others to access the same level of community and support that she has gained through two pregnancies. We are just one day away from Big Day of Giving! Today and tomorrow, I'm going to be sharing some videos made by our teachers and board members and clients about why they love The Root.
You'll catch Kavisa teaching prenatal yoga on Monday nights and on some Saturdays. She even sometimes subs our Baby & Me Yoga classes. She is a wonderful human, teacher and is also a IBCLC! Her passion for supporting families through movement and lactation support is amazing and we are so lucky to have her on our team! You can catch her out in the community hosting breastfeeding support groups, milk drives through and teaching free yoga classes through .
