When using the Covered California website do not use decimals or $ signs when typing in amounts, this may help you get to the end, or go directly to Health Net, Anthem, or Blueshield website and shop on and off the exchange. These sites do work better.

Seniors may be having issues with Pharmacies requiring payment for the prescription in full, not a copayment. This is due to the formulary from medicare changing a bit. I'm not sure what the changes are, but believe it has to do with new drugs coming out and the old ones being dropped. Some doctors do not like this and you may see doctors leaving a group and joining another group.

Since 01/01/2014 medicare beneficiaries have been affected very little compared to the under 65 crowd. We will see some movement with doctors changing plans and joining different groups. There are still 100's of doctors in any group so choosing a new doc will not be a problem. The formularies for drugs have changed a little replacing older drugs with new ones for the same ailment or conditions. Seems the drug mfg are behind this. For the most part medicare recipients should not worry about 2014 healthcare but 2015 could be another story. My clients need not worry, I will let you know and then advise you on what we will do.
