Heyyyy beautiful souls✨
Story time…📖
💜 Part I
Once upon a time, I was crazy active; very energetic and plugged into all sorts of activities on top of balancing roles as a wife and mom of three.
And then….
One day, I lost the sensation in my right hand. I began dropping things unexpectedly. My legs began to give out. I know longer had energy to walk my children to the neighborhood park. I slowly had to pull away from various activities.
I went to the “doctor”, my practicing physician.
I was dismissed a few times. I was told that my symptoms were in my head.
Listen. Our bodies can sometimes turn on themselves, causing a whole mess of symptoms. I began to become increasingly frustrated as there weee no answers. The one thing I knew… my God is a healer. I am a healer. I can heal my body. But from what????
After almost 10 years I was given the diagnosis of an autoimmune disease- ocular myasthenia gravis “OMG”. Cute, huh… gotta love the irony.
It’s a muscle debilitating (and can be deteriorating) disease. It began to make sense why my muscles seem to be failing.
One practice that instrumentally helped me was Qigong. I was able to take charge and manage my healing and wellness journey. Qigong is a practice that can be a powerful tool for women of color.
There’s also a sense of community with Qigong, especially if you find a group designed for women of color facing similar challenges. Sharing experiences and practicing together can be a huge support.
By taking charge of your health and incorporating Qigong, you can feel empowered, reduce stress, improve your well-being, and manage your condition in a way that works for you.
