Those of you that have been around for a while have heard me say each summer:

I LOVE TO SWIM 🏊‍♀️

Along with swimming comes the dreaded bathing suit shopping. ☹️
As someone who deeply values the joy of swimming but has faced body image struggles, I understand the daunting experience that can come with trying on 👙 swimwear.

Despite our efforts to embrace intuitive eating and positive body image, the act of bathing suit shopping can sometimes trigger negative thoughts that overshadow our love for the water.

There is a fascinating study by Marika Tiggemann, a psychologist at Flinders University in Australia. She discovered that women tend to feel more critical about their bodies when trying on bathing suits in store environments, attributing this to harsh lighting, critical self-evaluation in mirrors, and overall discomfort in that setting.

It's intriguing how the very place meant for finding swimwear can become a battlefield of self-doubt and insecurities.

But fear not, there are strategies to navigate this challenging experience.

It's common to feel self-conscious in swimwear, yet denying ourselves the pleasure of swimming due to these insecurities is a greater loss.

Like you, I am a work in progress, constantly striving to improve my body image and embrace the benefits of outdoor activities like swimming for mental and physical well-being.

I talk more about this on the blog- read here…

I love having conversations with my friends and when one of my friends makes it her business to talk about Career Purpose Coaching- I am all in!!!

I recently had a conversation with Carrie Helms about boundaries for women.
Carrie Helms is a Career Purpose Coach: Empowering women on a mission to swap overwhelm and frustration with clarity and confidence.
She tells us that we need to determine where we are a HECK YES and a HECK NO. You know… BOUNDARIES.
Carrie tells us about her move into saying heck yes to herself when a person she dated made negative comments about her body!!! She tells us how she was able to stand up for herself.

Get clear on your heck YES and your hell NO to create joy, meaning and freedom in your life.

Join us in this special Feed Your Soul with Kim Podcast where we answer the questions:
• Why do we need non-negotiables (those things you need to say no to)?

Recently I spoke at an International Women’s Day conference.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is “Accelerate Action” focusing on strategies and tools to drive women’s progress.

For me this conversation is about women focusing on their areas of power. I find there are plenty of times that we as women are our own worst enemies, where we hold ourselves back.

Let’s take stock and focus on our wellbeing, which lifts all women.

There are some common topics that seem to be universal for women: some common sticking points. These commonalities appear to be problematic for women and can keep them stuck.

Join us in this Feed Your Soul with Kim Podcast where we answer the questions:

👉What is International Women’s Day and why is it important.
👉3 areas where women tend to struggle AND what to do.
👉How and why, you should get into Accelerated Action.

This is Eating Disorder Awareness Week, and I would be remiss to not include a deeper look at Eating Disorders, in general on the podcast.

This episode might be for you or for someone else.

The National Eating Disorders Association says that It is estimated that 9% of the U.S. population, or 28.8 million Americans, will have an eating disorder in their lifetime.

That is a lot of people who are suffering.

Have a listen to the podcast and learn more about how eating disorders might be affecting you or someone you love.
