Today, we honor Juneteenth—a powerful day marking the end of slavery in the United States and the ongoing journey toward justice and liberation.
📅 June 19, 1865: Enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom—over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
This moment became a symbol of resilience, resistance, and the continued fight for equity.
✨ Juneteenth is a time to:
🔸 Celebrate Black history, culture, and strength
🔸 Reflect on the legacy of slavery and systemic racism
🔸 Uplift Black voices, joy, and contributions
At Turning Point Community Programs, we stand in solidarity with the Black community and reaffirm our commitment to equity, inclusion, and collective healing.
📚 Whether you're learning, listening, or gathering in community—may today be a moment of remembrance and progress.
