And also yes, the cooking will take place in the phenomenal Green Hill Kitchen!

Each week we explore a new theme with hands-on projects that help kids connect with themselves and express who they are—through sculpture, collage, painting, and more.
👧 Ages: 6+

Twice a week to unplug, get messy, and find themselves again through creativity and connection.

Our first 3-week series (6/17–7/3) is built around the theme:
“All About Me” — playful, powerful self-identity work disguised as joyful art.

Tuesdays + Thursdays only, ages 6+
We meet twice weekly because some projects need drying time… and honestly, so do the kids.

Seasonal Children’s Workshops at Table & Twig

Table & Twig offers a unique, hands-on experience where children can connect with nature and explore their creativity. In our workshops, children engage with foraged materials, natural pigments, spices, and even food—inviting them to smell, taste, squish, grate, and craft something special to take home.

With over 30 years of experience working with children across various programs and philosophies, I’ve landed here, creating spaces where kids can learn about nature, food science, and themselves in a safe, inspiring environment.

Since relocating to the area, I’ve had the joy of hosting these pop-ups at the beautiful Green Hill Ranch in Newcastle, my cozy studio living room, and even mobile private gatherings (at your yard, church, school, etc.).

Celebrate the seasons with Table & Twig’s magical workshops. We can’t wait to create with your young humans.

NATURE NATIVITY
A beautiful keepsake nativity made from foraged items like magnolia seeds and driftwood, along with spices and natural fibers, is housed in a wooden box that closes after the holidays. $5 supply fee added.

Oh Miss Stella, you have made so many “cafe signs” over the last two years, but none of them brought me to tears like this one.

I didn’t have time yesterday to be sad; it was a busy day with littles and bigs, and popsicles, and mud, and playdough, and…..

But when I left the main house to go on my evening walk, I saw your sign. And 😭 😭😭😭😭

The cottage is closed.

Table & Twig is not closed!! But the cottage, with all of its absolute magic and wonder, is.

The work was massive, and what I wanted for all the friends was bigger than I was able to pull off by myself. I have no regrets. I have exhales. I have sadness. I have my own sense of wonder for all the things I want for me, as I adventure.

I have a thousand pictures and two thousand memories of “The Cottage.”

Thank you to all of you who trusted me and the vision, for a drop-in, a cooking class, or the wild morning program, over the seasons. I hope to see you on the 80 side soon!!!

Best Advice I Was Ever Given.
(also, read to the end)

“Before you say no, ask yourself why. Is it because of a potential mess (spoiler: the mess will happen anyway), because your mom told YOU not to paint your body, or just habit?”

You wouldn’t believe the moments we’ve had here over the last two years with all the YESSES!

Today- Inside the cottage:
So you want to put shaving cream and rainbow rice all over yourself? Okay, go for it, you will be cleaning up and keep it out of your eyes.
(Miss S is a sensory seeker and she was at it for a while. This is what her spirit needed today.)

Today- outside: I did not redirect the ooblek play. I mean, what’s the worst that could happen if cornstarch and water end up everywhere... outside?

Oh and YES you can have three *smoothie* pops in a row…..while playing.
