Do you think your pet may be suffering from pain? Have you noticed that your pet vomits or gets diarrhea with change or stress? How does diet either contribute to disease or promote wellness? Many veterinarians just say, “Oh its allergies” or prescribe drugs to mask symptoms. But let me share with you a different way of looking at our pets, early signs of imbalance and how you can apply acupressure to help keep them healthy.

I am teaching three short online classes examining Traditional Chinese Medicine patterns, tongue diagnosis, and then acupressure techniques you can use to benefit your pet, as an assessment for a teaching Certification. Each class of 8-10 people will be 40-60 minutes long, starting with a brief powerpoint presentation and then an interactive period to discuss your pet with Q&A.

session1:basic Traditional Chinese Medicine Principles (June 22 5-6 pm
session 2: 4 Examinations and tongue diagnosis (June 22 6-7 pm)
session 3: acupressure point s for your pet (June 29 5-6 pm)

I have been so rewarded with this different way of looking at your pets, their wellness and disease prevention and I would love to share it with you! Please post below, or PM me if you would like to attend. Friends and family (two and four legs!) are invited too!

Meet Gus. Gus had surgery 4 weeks ago for ruptured discs in his back. Went into surgery not walking, still not walking. But with his owners devotion, Gus has a custom rolling crate (not shown) that he could be transported into the clinic rather than carried. He was depressed and frustrated.
His owner got a cart, and Gus came in today almost running! He was so happy to be up instead of just being able to drag himself around.
He has had electroacupuncture, laser treatments and wound care for pressure sores for 2 weeks, and today he is able to wiggle his hind feet and tail!
Being able to practice acupuncture for my patients is so fulfilling, and I left today with a smile on my face and hope in my heart for Gus. Next week he will be adding intensive physical therapy to his recovery.
Don't underestimate the power of acupuncture.

Grey and I have been strugglong with pancreatitis and high blood sugar. His, not mine. Wish I woud have done more earlier, but that is hindsight and my denial when it comes to my own pets.
Got the insulin injections down. Skin pricks for measuring blood glucose still a struggle. How does this happen when I feed my cats raw foods? Well... maybe the neighborhood Meow Mix isnt the best. So current focus is managing and respecting his lifestyle and choices. and adjusting my schedule to being here to make sure he eats, monitor his drinking water and urinating, and give insulin injections. It's better but just in the initial stages. Gotta make sure to be here on a regular schedule for him.
Please don't feed your cats multicolored dry food. Corn and wheat are not foods for an obligate carnivore. It's killing them

Research News - Systematic Review of Enriched Therapeutic Diets and Nutraceuticals in Canine and Feline Osteoarthritis

With osteoarthritis being the most common degenerative disease in pet animals, a very broad panel of natural health products is available on the market for its management. A team of Canadian researchers recently undertook a systematic review and meta-analysis to test for the evidence of clinical analgesia efficacy of fortified foods and nutraceuticals administered in dogs and cats affected by osteoarthritis. In four electronic bibliographic databases, 1578 publications were retrieved plus 20 additional publications from internal sources. Fifty-seven articles were included, comprising 72 trials divided into nine different categories of natural health compound. The efficacy assessment, associated to the level of quality of each trial, presented an evident clinical analgesic efficacy for omega-3-enriched diets, omega-3 supplements and cannabidiol (to a lesser degree). Their analysis showed a weak efficacy of collagen and a very marked non-effect of chondroitin glucosamine nutraceuticals, which led them to recommend that the latter products should no longer be recommended for pain management in canine and feline osteoarthritis.
