ly through consultation and advocacy. Through the years after becoming a registered nurse, I realized that I was always most interested in the whole person, from cradle to grave so to speak. In particular, I enjoy listening to people, hearing their stories, and walking with people on the journey, as I contemplate the meaning of life, death (and everything in between) as well. I have dual licensure as a psychiatric social worker and clinical nurse specialist in adult psych/mental health nursing. I added certification as a public health nurse because that gave me even greater opportunities to serve the community. What I know and do best is working with people and families who encounter serious and chronic mental disorders, grief, biological/medical issues that impact a person's health and mental health. I recognize spiritual issues, P.T.S.D. and substance disorders which are triggered by collateral related factors such as abuse, homelessness, unemployment, involvement with the criminal justice system, lack of education, developmental issues, generational issues,, and the pain from stigmatization and prejudice. I enjoy travel and experiencing other cultures. Travel has helped me to better empathize and understand others. Central to promoting health and healing is a recognition that life has meaning and experiences have meaning, whether "religious" or not.
