September is World S*xual Health Month, a month focusing on the impact our s*xual health has on our overall well-being. S*xuality should be celebrated, yet talking about s*xual wellness is still considered taboo by so many. When it comes down to it, lack of education is a huge reason why people are not comfortable discussing s*x, pleasure, or even their own bodies with their doctor.

When you look back on your experience with s*x ed— if you even had an opportunity for basic s*x education, was it a positive one? Or were there topics you wish had been touched on or explained more? We’re taking this S*xual Health Month as an opportunity to highlight the s*xual health education we were never given in school, especially information that is relevant to groups that are often overlooked when it comes to s*x ed.

It’s time to dust off those notebooks, take out your pens, and get ready to stay a student, because school is in session! We’re covering everything you always wanted to know in s*x ed.

Week 2: S*x Ed for People of Color
Week 3: S*x Ed for the Golden Years
Week 4: Women’s S*xual Health
