I wish women could all know that birth is a rite of passage and they will never be the same again!

✨What if we told women the truth about birth✨

We’d have to tell them that contractions will probably be more than “surges” or “sensations.”

That they’ll probably rock your f✨cking world and leave you begging for salvation as you clutch the edge of the tub or the hospital linens

That your gentle breathing exercises and your Spotify soundtrack will be left in the dust as you sweat and pant and sway and swear your way through it

That you’ll trip harder than any mushroom you ever did in college and vomit with the same ferocity and travel to places deep within yourself that you didn’t know existed. That you’ll float above your body and simultaneously be trapped in it with an intensity you’ve never tasted

And in that intensity, in the sweating and the swearing and the swaying and the vomiting and the endless hours of contractions crashing down upon you
You’ll find your strength
You’ll find a resilience you’ve never known
You’ll find the power you need for the journey of motherhood ahead

In the messy humanity of it all
You’ll find that you are holy
A portal to the divine
Capable of indescribable miracles
A vessel of sacred life

What if we told women the truth about birth?
We’d have to tell them they are capable of anything
Worthy of being treated like goddesses
Made to walk through the flames
Surf the tidal waves
Dive into the underworld
And come out alive

Not unscathed
Not unchanged
But whole
And healed
And ready to take on the world

If we told women the truth about birth
We’d have to admit that we’ve lied about everything else
And that they are more powerful
More fierce
More capable

Incredible!

Während der Schwangerschaft wandern die Zellen des Babys in den Blutkreislauf der Mutter und kehren dann in das Baby zurück, was als "fetal-mütterlicher Mikrochimärismus" bezeichnet wird.

41 Wochen lang zirkulieren und verschmelzen die Zellen und nach der Geburt des Babys bleiben viele dieser Zellen im Körper der Mutter und hinterlassen einen bleibenden Abdruck im Gewebe, in den Knochen, im Gehirn und in der Haut der Mutter, wo sie oft jahrzehntelang bleiben.
Jedes Kind wird einen ähnlichen Abdruck hinterlassen. Studien haben auch Zellen eines Fötus im Gehirn einer Mutter 18 Jahre nach der Entbindung nachgewiesen.

Untersuchungen haben gezeigt, dass, wenn das Herz einer Mutter verletzt wird, fetale Zellen zur Verletzungsstelle eilen und sich in verschiedene Arten von Zellen verwandeln, die auf die Reparatur des Herzens spezialisiert sind. This is absolutely fascinating and potentially a good reason to co sleep, as mother's breathing is a natural regulator of her infants breathing when they are close together. I would love to see that study done.

The Children's Hospital Westmead in Sydney, have discovered exactly what causes SIDS. And a mom solved the mystery.

Dear moms

Sleep with your children, lay them in bed while they still want. Wrap them in soft blankets and warm covers and in your arms.

Children are only little once, when they grow up, they will look for their way and place. Hurry up because time goes by fast.

Hug them and hang on them, kiss them as many times as you can, be close enough to feel their breath and hear the little heartbeat that beats.

There is nothing more beautiful in the world than the special closeness of mother and child!

For those of you who endured a traumatic birth... This is a group doing a study to help understand and educate what needs to change in the system!

“Hello, I’m part of a team at Stanford University studying motherhood and health. We’re looking to interview mothers who felt that they had a very difficult or traumatic birth experience. We'd like to understand their experiences, how it affected them, and discuss ideas for supporting mothers in similar situations.

I would appreciate if you could share the attached flyer about this research with your community in any manner that feels appropriate, whether via listserv, Facebook, or email group. If there are women who currently feel they have the bandwidth to reflect on their birth experiences, I would be grateful to speak with them. We're hoping that this research will help elevate the voices of people who may otherwise go unheard in order to benefit future families and children, so I'd be grateful for your help spreading this far and wide!”
