We are excited to share a new chapter for the Great Lakes Bay Region Mental Health Partnership! We have officially transitioned to CMU Health as our new organizational home!

After four years of growth and impact within the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, this move represents a natural evolution that positions the Mental Health Partnership for long-term sustainability, deeper collaboration, and expanded opportunities to strengthen mental health awareness, access, and support across our region. All programs, trainings, and initiatives will continue uninterrupted - with even more opportunity ahead.

We are deeply grateful to the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance's Board of Directors and staff for the support and excited for what’s next with CMU Health.

✨An event update for Lifting Our Voices: Be The Light Annual Fundraiser✨

We are so grateful for the incredible support and enthusiasm surrounding Lifting Our Voices: Be the Light. With that in mind, we want to share an important update.

The fundraiser originally scheduled for next week has been postponed. This decision was made thoughtfully and with great care, allowing us the opportunity to ensure the strongest possible experience for everyone involved.

We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued commitment to mental health in our region. Additional details, including a new event date, will be shared soon, and we look forward to coming together at a later time to lift voices, spread hope, and shine a light together.

Thank you for being part of this meaningful work. Please stay tuned for updates.

With sincere gratitude,

Dallas Rau

Congratulations to another group of Mental Health First Aiders!

Today, we were honored to provide Youth Mental Health First Aid training to the incredible staff at Nouvel Catholic Central during their Professional Development Day.

By learning how to recognize signs of mental health challenges, respond with confidence, and connect youth to appropriate care, these educators are strengthening a culture of compassion and safety.

Thank you, Nouvel Catholic Central, for your commitment to the well-being of your students and community.

We’re excited to share that we’ve officially launched our first Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) cohort at Windover High School-an incredible partner who leads with care, compassion, and commitment to their students.

tMHFA is an evidence-based curriculum from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and equips young people with the skills to recognize signs of mental health and substance use challenges, support a friend in need, and connect trusted adults and resources - because early awareness and action can truly save lives.

After just the first two sessions, students shared powerful takeaways, including:

-Anyone can be affected by mental health challenges
-1 in 5 teens experience a mental health challenge
-Substance use disorders are mental illnesses
-Talking about mental health matters
-Reaching out is the first - and most important - step
-Once you ask for help, things can get better
-Learning how to think differently in difficult situations
-Using more respectful language when talking about mental health

Hearing these reflections reminds us why this work matters so deeply. We’re grateful to Windover High School for trusting us with this important work - and we can’t wait to see the ripple effect this first cohort will create. 🌱

Try taking mindful breaks from screens and spending time connecting with your community. The links below share helpful resources to guide you toward activities that might interest you.

Too much screen time may affect your mental health. Take breaks, set limits, and spend time offline connecting with real people. Small changes can make a big difference in your well-being.
