🌟 Big News for the Winning Against Regain Community! 🌟

Hey everyone! After much thought, I’ve made an exciting decision for 2025 that I believe will bring even more value and focused support to those ready to take control of their journey. Soon, my Winning Against Regain Facebook Group will transition to a private coaching membership!

This change means I’ll be dedicating my efforts to just a few core programs:

Winning Against Regain Inner Circle – for ongoing support and guidance.
Winning Your Mindset Group Coaching – for those committed to building a powerful mindset.
Back on Track – a structured program designed for anyone who’s ready to lose their regain or break through a stall on their way to goal.

My mission has always been to support those determined to lose their regain, overcome stalls, and make it to their goal. With this focus, I’m looking for individuals who are engaged and ready to benefit from consistent coaching and a community that shares the same goals and drive. So I had to make some tough decisions. My goal is not to have a BIG group, but rather a very engaged group.

If you’re ready to be part of this new chapter, get on the waitlist to join when it fully opens! The link is in the comments below. đŸ’Ș

After four months of focused effort, I’m now just 1.9 pounds away from saying goodbye to that frustrating regain! But I am NOT done, I want to push down even further over the next 4-6 months.

What worked:

1. Creating daily action plans (even if it was just on paper, not my official form). Sometimes they went flawless and sometimes I did not execute 100%. What mattered is the consistecny of staying in a caloric deficit.
2. Following my Eating Structure (you can download it on my website)
3. Prioritizing protein at every meal (aiming for 100g a day)
4. Staying hydrated meaning water😂
5. Cutting out snacks (except for these last two weeks while hunting).
6. Consistent mindset work with my 2 coaching memberships. We work on mindset work all the time!

Rinse and repeat daily/weekly/monthly. Always striving to learn and be better.

Remember, the tool is just that—a tool. It did the heavy lifting the first time around, and it helped again with the regain, but this time it was my mindset and discipline that made the real difference. The tool helped, but I made it happen.

The end of June beginning of July I decided enough of the prednisone and hell or high water, my little bit of regain will be let by the end of this year. I am only 5 from the goal, but I have decided to push it down lower! In September, I stalled out all month (this is our lesson in my membership this month - tackling those) but then dropped 3 pounds last week! This weeks Newsletter will be all about stalls and plateaus make sure you go to barifit.com and signup to get them.

My first blog
.but wait there is more coming for those on my email list :)

Weight loss is not a straight path. For those of us who have undergone bariatric surgery, the initial journey can feel like a sprint. The weight seems to melt off, driven by the physical restrictions of surgery, smaller portions, and the excitement of rapid progress. But for many of us, the real challenge begins when the weight starts to creep back—when we face bariatric regain.

The difference between losing weight after surgery and losing it after a regain is significant, and it goes beyond the physical. After regain, the battle shifts to a mental game that requires intentionality, daily commitment, and the ability to face setbacks without giving up.

The Initial Post-Surgery Weight Loss: A Physical Reset
In the months immediately following bariatric surgery, losing weight can feel almost effortless. You’ve just undergone a procedure that restricts how much you can eat. Your stomach is smaller, and the weight falls off as you adjust to smaller portions and focus on the essentials: protein intake, hydration, and vitamins.

At this stage, the physical aspect of weight loss is front and center. Your new anatomy is doing most of the work, forcing you to eat less and adhere to the nutritional guidelines laid out by your bariatric team. The excitement of the initial weight loss keeps you motivated, and you begin to see results quickly.

Most of the focus is on relearning how to eat—figuring out what foods agree with you, how much protein you need to consume, and how to navigate the feeling of fullness. It’s a new lifestyle, but one that feels largely controlled by the surgery itself. You’re working within the boundaries that have been set for you by your new stomach.

Bariatric Regain: The Mental Challenge
But what happens when the weight starts to return? Bariatric regain is a reality for many, whether it happens months or years down the road. It can be triggered by stress, emotional eating, lack of structure, or even medical complications.

Losing weight after regain is a completely different journey. Unlike the immediate post-surgery phase, where your body naturally limited how much you could consume, you now have more freedom—and more responsibility. The restriction is still there, but it’s much easier to eat around it, to find yourself slipping into old habits, or to make justifications for “cheating” on your bariatric lifestyle.

This phase is where the mental challenge begins. It’s no longer just about physical restriction; it’s about mindset. You have to actively choose to stick to your bariatric eating habits and structure. The path is no longer as clearly laid out for you, and this is where intentionality becomes critical.

Intentionality: The Key to Losing Bariatric Regain
After bariatric surgery, weight loss often feels like it’s driven by the surgery itself. But after regain, you have to make a conscious decision every day to stay on track. You need to be intentional about what you eat, how you move, and how you think.

Each day requires a plan—what you’ll eat, when you’ll eat, and how you’ll meet your nutritional goals. It’s easy to get off track when life gets stressful or when emotional triggers arise. This is where self-talk and daily action plans come into play.

I always remind myself that the real victory comes from aligning my daily actions with my long-term goals. For me, that means going back to the basics: 100 grams of protein a day, staying hydrated, prioritizing sleep, and ensuring I get enough physical activity. But even more than that, it means holding myself accountable and creating a mindset that supports my bariatric lifestyle.

Facing Life’s Challenges with Self-Talk
One of the most difficult aspects of bariatric regain is that life doesn’t stop. Stress, boredom, emotional challenges—they all continue to throw curveballs your way. It’s easy to fall into old patterns, especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed. This is where the power of self-talk comes in.

By reminding yourself of your goals and the reasons why you started this journey in the first place, you can resist the temptation to indulge in old habits. Whether it’s late-night snacking or reaching for comfort foods during a stressful moment, the key is staying mentally focused on what you want to achieve.

For me, the mantra that helps me stay grounded is: “I will nourish my success, master my mindset, and step into action today.” This simple statement keeps me on track, reminding me that success doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from persistence.

The Importance of a Supportive Community
Another critical component in overcoming regain is having a supportive community around you. Losing weight after surgery can feel isolating, but losing it after regain can feel even lonelier. That’s why it’s so important to connect with others who are on the same journey.

Having a group of people who understand the challenges you’re facing—whether it’s emotional eating, boredom, or a lack of motivation—can make a world of difference. A community provides accountability, support, and the reminder that you’re not alone in this battle.

Daily Action and Progress: Winning the Long Game
Success after bariatric regain isn’t about a quick fix or immediate results. It’s about building daily habits that lead to long-term change. It’s about creating an action plan and following it as closely as you can each day, knowing that some days will be better than others.

By focusing on structured eating, planning ahead, and making sure you hit your nutritional goals, you can regain control over your weight and your health. The key is to stay consistent and committed, even when life gets tough.

Conclusion: Intentionality Over Perfection
Regain doesn’t have to define your bariatric journey. The difference between losing weight after surgery and after regain is that the second time around, it’s all about intentionality. While the surgery gave you a powerful tool, the real success comes from how you use that tool over the long term.

By focusing on daily intentionality—planning your meals, mastering your mindset, and stepping into action—you can lose the weight, keep it off, and ultimately, win your life back.

💬 When I was 300 pounds, someone once asked me, "How did you allow yourself to get to 300 pounds?" It wasn’t like I consciously chose that path. I was coping—using food, bad habits, and emotional eating to deal with life’s challenges. The weight gain was a byproduct of how I managed my emotions and daily stresses.

Now, people tell me they want my motivation. But the truth is, I haven’t always had my đŸ’© together. Over the past 11 years, I’ve gone through the ebbs and flows of life. I’ve indulged too much and wasn’t always intentional in my choices. But I always return to my bariatric core values and the code of conduct I committed to when I had surgery. Motivation isn’t always enough—it’s my core values and habits that keep me going.

This is what makes me a great coach—I don’t just preach. I live it, and I coach from my own experience, openly sharing my journey.

Here’s what motivates me and keeps me grounded:

✹ Intrinsic Motivation:

I never want to be obese again. I want to live life on my terms, free from being held back by weight or self-doubt.

I want to feel confident, proud, and comfortable in my own skin.

I want to live without avoiding the camera or social events because I feel self-conscious about my body.

I don't want all those sh*tty thoughts that come with weight.

✹ Extrinsic Motivation & Core Values:

Accountability: I’m committed to my community and myself. I’m about to celebrate 11 years post-op on 9/26/24, and while I’ve had small regains and setbacks, I’ve always taken control back.

Consistency: I may not always be perfect, but I always come back to my bariatric eating structure and code of conduct. That keeps me aligned with the life I want.

Resilience: I’ve faced emotional eating and regained weight, but I’ve bounced back because my long-term goals keep me focused.

Comfort in My Own Skin: I want to wear cute clothes, feel comfortable in my body, and not be confined by the "obese rules" society places on us.

Living Life on My Terms: I want to be happy with how I look and the number on the scale, and live my life without feeling limited by weight or self-esteem.

Self-Compassion: I give myself grace when I stumble, and I get back on track by coming back to these core values.

This month, in my Winning Against Regain Inner Circle, I’m coaching on how to build and sustain motivation—even when it fades. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being committed to your values and showing up for yourself.

Now, I want to hear from YOU. Post your before and after photos in the comments, and share how far you’ve come! Whether you're months or years out of surgery, take a moment to reflect on your own core values. What drives you?

Let’s celebrate your journey and keep moving forward together! đŸ’Ș🏆

🌟 When Do You Want to Win? 🌟

We often focus on the number on the scale, waiting for that magical moment when we reach a certain number—thinking that’s when we’ve won. But winning isn’t just about reaching a goal weight—it’s about every single step you take along the way, and most importantly, building the goal life you truly want.

As I reflect on past versions of myself—the highs, the lows, the struggles—I realize that each of those moments was a win in its own way. Every decision to keep going, every time I chose to push through self-doubt, every small change was a victory, and each one brings me closer to the life I’m creating.

Winning is in the now. It’s in the meal you planned and stuck to. It’s in sharing that dessert instead of finishing it on your own. It’s in the evening snacking you skipped. It’s in the walk you took when you could have stayed on the couch. It’s in turning down that drink, or choosing days of sobriety. It’s in the mindset shift when you stopped letting those negative thoughts define you.

And my tribe? We clap for each and every one of those wins. Every. Damn. Day. 👏

The scale is just one part of the story. You, your effort, your resilience, your determination—that’s where the real victory lies. It’s not about a number; it’s about creating a life that aligns with your goals, dreams, and true self.

So I ask you today: When do you want to win? Every moment, every decision, every step matters. Let’s build that goal life, and let’s celebrate each win along the way! đŸ’Ș

🌟 Self-Care: Small Changes, Big Impact! 🌟

Taking care of yourself isn’t always easy, but it is absolutely worth it. Check out this incredible transformation from one of our community members:

"Hey, I just wanted to tell you I’ve been really working on self-care because of the stuff that you told me, and my God, what a difference it has made! I went from 251.8 pounds to 220 as of this morning. I’ve been taking vitamins, especially turmeric, on a daily basis. My legs are no longer swollen, my arthritis is down, and I am feeling so good. I do a little bit of exercise here and there that I can do without it hurting my back, and I just wanted to say thank you!"

This journey is a powerful reminder that self-care isn’t just about weight—it’s about feeling GOOD, taking those small steps that lead to bigger results. Whether it's through vitamins, manageable movement, or simply listening to your body, every step you take matters. đŸŒ±đŸ’Ș

Take time for YOU today because self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. ❀

Prepare for Challenges Ahead to Stay on Track!

One of the biggest ways I see people veering off from their goals is when challenges pop up, and suddenly, it’s like all bets are off. Something stressful happens, and before you know it, you're eating all the things. I’ve been there too—it’s tempting to just throw in the towel when things get tough.

Take last night, for example. We were in the middle of tearing down the sheetrock in the garage to figure out where the pipes freeze in the bonus room every winter. The problem turned out to be WAY bigger than we thought. So here I am, at 8pm, exhausted and facing a mountain of meal prep for the week.

My body was ready to sink into the couch, but that little voice in my head reminded me how important meal prep is for staying on track. So instead of giving in, I pushed through and finished prepping our meals. And you know what? I woke up this morning feeling so much more in control and ready to tackle the week.

Listen to that little voice. The one that reminds you how your goals matter. When challenges come up (and they will), it’s preparing ahead of time that makes all the difference. You got this!

🚹Does this sound familiar?🚹

✅ You’ve lost count of how many times you’ve started and stopped "diets."
✅ Every weekend, you indulge, promising to get back on track by Monday.
✅It’s all-or-nothing.
✅ There never seems to be enough time to stick to the plan.

If this hits close to home, you’re not alone. But here’s the truth—if you keep following the same dieting approach, you risk regaining the weight you worked so hard to lose, wasting money on meal plans and programs that don’t work, and constantly stressing over whether you can eat certain foods or if they’re "bad."

This frustrating cycle often leads to feelings of shame from repeated failures, leaving you desperate to keep trying. Imagine a year from now, being in the same situation—or even worse, regaining more weight and facing further health issues.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

I’ve created a proven Winning Path to help you overcome these challenges. My approach is simple yet effective—focusing on nourishing your success, mastering your mindset, and stepping into daily action—all without strict meal plans, giving up the foods you love, or relying on gimmicks. It’s time to free up your time to love your bariatric life!

The best part about shedding those regained pounds? Getting to pick out all the cute clothes you'll rock! This weekend, we're celebrating our anniversary at the hot springs in Montana, and I'm having a blast choosing adorable swimsuits, cover-ups, matching hats, sunglasses, and shoes to strut in style.

It's all about finding those moments to be proud of your progress and celebrating the heck out of them in ways that don't involve food. Sure, losing regain might not have the same thrill as those first post-surgery pounds, but you can still find plenty of fun moments to be proud of along the way!

Next up is cleaning out my closet and finding those cute outfits to rock!
