The holiday fun continues at Homestead Senior Living! Students from the UVM Youth Leaders in Aging program came together with our residents to create beautiful holiday cards and a yummy snack mix to share with friends & family. An uninvited lunch guest’s heart grew three sizes with a hug. Homestead team members were happy to join in the merriment and laughter!

Homestead kicked off the holiday season in true Whotastic style!
Our Whoville theme came to life with Max, Cindy Lou Who, the Mayor and a caroler wrapped in lights, all spreading holiday cheer throughout the community.
We played games, enjoyed beautiful music from Carol Ann Jones and a guest piano player, and shared our favorite holiday traditions - movies we love, treats we can’t live without, real vs. fake tree debates, and so much more.
We’re excited for a season full of joy, fun, and all the Whoville magic we have planned for you.

I am so grateful for the amazing residents and families here at Homestead. This community is truly special, and it is a privilege to serve them each day.

In this season of thanks, I want to pause and recognize this extraordinary team—especially knowing the weight that comes with working in healthcare today. In a world where the demands grow heavier, expectations rise, and the pace never slows, you continue to show up with heart, strength, and grace.

It’s in those quiet moments—when nobody is looking—that I see you step up. I see the care and compassion you give day and night. The little things matter: knowing just how to prepare a meal, make a bed, fold clothes, ease a worry, or hold a hand at just the right time. These moments may seem small, but they are the soul of what we do.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to this incredible Homestead team. Your dedication enriches the lives of so many. You give so much of yourselves every single day, often under pressure, and I’m truly honored to be part of this team.

Our Menu Club took a wonderful trip to NYC for the “Homestead” Thanksgiving Day Parade! The day was full of colorful floats, festive decorations, and plenty of holiday cheer. We were thrilled to see the Grand Marshal, the Rockettes, and even a few turkeys join the celebration! The crowd favorite was definitely the gingerbread cookie riding a polar bear - but we can’t forget our Director of Nursing, who shared her heart and joy with everyone.
