I’m back!
Well, I’ve officially been back for two and a half days but I’m still SO TIRED. We tackled Disney World with a 4 year old and 10 month old, walked almost 35 miles in 6 days in 90+ degree heat…. And I still haven’t recovered 😂.
As exhausting as it was, we had so much fun and got to enjoy lots of unplugged time away from the real world.
Here are some of my favorite things to remember while traveling👇🏼
-Food is going to look different because the food available will be different. That’s okay. Walking into the situation with that mindset is going to serve you SO much better than trying to make your travel meals fit into some sort of diet-y box. It also helps you to avoid those “screw it, I’m on vacation so I’m going to order the *worst* thing every time” moments.
-You’re probably going to “indulge” more than you would at home, simply based on opportunity. And that’s okay. FOOD IS A FUN EXPERIENCE- don’t miss out on fun food opportunities because you’re trying to be “good” on vacation. Do you need to order so much food that you’re sick or stop listening to your fullness just because you’re on vacation? Of course not! But you can choose fun foods simply because they sound good and fun to try…. And then move on.
-Prioritize the things that are under your control that help you feel best. Eating consistent meals/snacks, choosing foods on your plate that will help you feel good, drinking enough water, maybe moving your body a bit, etc. Lean into the flexibility of travel as much as you can so you can enjoy yourself!
-A few days of travel matter very very little in the grand scheme of things. What you’re doing overall over the span of weeks and months is what matters most. Stop stressing a few days and enjoy yourself.
-Focus on what truly matters— enjoying your vacation and building memories with friends and family (or even just yourself!). There is so much time to prioritize the other things.
