August will be full of fun activities! Please note, there are two Mint Fest activities that need to be signed up for in advance. On Friday, Aug. 8 a Senior Citizen Day outing is planned for 1 - 4 pm and on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 10 am is the Parade.

On Monday, Todd brought us his "Bless You Boys" Detroit Tigers presentation. He is a Detroit Tigers memorabilia collector and storyteller. Thank you, Todd, for visiting both us and Clinton Commons!

Employee spotlight – Emily W. – CNA

One of the newest members of our work family, Emily joined the team in May of this year. However, she is not new to care giving. Emily has 15 years of experience.

Emily loves vacationing with her kids and dreams of traveling with them in an RV to all of the states.

What do you like best about working at Hazel Findlay? “Spending time with the residents.”

Fun facts – “I like to make stickers and t-shirts.”

It is SHARK WEEK! We have been enjoying shark themed snacks (like shark attack Jello) and games (pin the fin on the shark) as well as a shark themed craft. We have a shark attack game scheduled for this afternoon to keep the fun going.

Did you know that July 17th was National Tattoo Day? Our activity team knew and made sure we celebrated in style with a Tattoos and Brews event. Residents picked out a temporary tattoo and enjoyed a frosty beverage.

Today is National Ice Cream Day and we are celebrating with an ice cream social! Come out at 4 pm and celebrate with a refreshing treat. 🥳🍦

Employee spotlight – Meghan B. – LPN

Meghan first joined Hazel Findlay in 2018, and she served as a CNA for four years. She went to school in Florida, where she lived for three years. Meghan returned to Hazel Findlay as an LPN this February.

Meghan lived in Colorado for 6 months, so it makes sense that her favorite spot to go is anywhere with mountains. Her dream trip would be to experience Greece.

What do you like best about working at Hazel Findlay? “It’s like family. I love my residents and it is a very rewarding job.”

Fun facts – “I have two cats, Jupiter and Trout.”
