How are my warriors? I’m feeling the emotional ups and downs of this quarantine business as I’m sure everybody is and wanted to share and connect with you all
How are you staying sane and grounded during this time?
Here’s my thoughts
Don’t watch too much of the news. Or scroll too much. I found myself obsessed with the news as the virus was first becoming a problem. This was causing me to turn into a couch potato and freak out about everything and it spiraled out of control
Disconnect when you can and get fresh air and sunshine! It’s getting nicer outside thank goodness so we can appreciate all things outdoors while still minding social distancing rules. Plus we need that vitamin D. My kids and I wear a bandana when out and if needed we can pull it over our faces in a pinch
When you are connected, make sure you are actually connecting with people, not just spiraling down a dark corona-hole. We long for social interaction. And in this time we are ALL in this together. What an amazing thing for the whole world to be united on something! Reach out, check on loved ones and friends, do little sweet things to brighten someone’s day or lighten their load, we all need some cheer right now!
Focus on things you are thankful for rather than the grim numbers and fear. I’m grateful I can be home safe with my kids and my growing belly and not have to put my health and everyone else in my family’s health at risk. Even if life isn’t how it’s supposed to be, everyone is okay and figuring out how to navigate life during this strange time. I’m thankful that my husband is healthy and that he has a great job as a nurse and can work even more hours than typical if we really need it right now.
Keep moving! Go for a walk, a bike ride, do some yoga! And meditate at least once a day...now there’s no excuse to not have the time for it and you might need several meditation breaks in a day during this crazy time. Go on YouTube and check out some binaural beats (soothing frequencies for your brain) and just get comfortable, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. You can also download a free meditation timer app to bring you out of your meditation. There’s no way to do it wrong, so long as you’re sticking with it. Make a mantra for yourself. Maybe it’s something you’re struggling with like staying out of the grocery store for random panic buys 🛒 🛍🤷🏻♀️
Your mantra could be, “I am content with what I have. I have everything I need”
Staying positive and doing things good for yourself or doing something that helps others will boost your immune system, boost your feel-good hormones, pumps up your feelings of gratitude, and keep you well ❤️
We will get through this, Warriors!
Please comment what you’re grateful for, and your mantra that will help you through the days to come
