Your Body Matters!
As a teacher, Sarah draws from years of experience working in-depth with the body and works to facilitate whole body alignment in her students, both physically and energetically. She specializes in alignment based yoga and the Feldenkrais method. Sarah's yoga classes are a blend of flowing yoga asanas, or poses, informed by precise attention to alignment, and supported by the calm wakefulness of Buddhist meditation practices.
Sarah’s goal is to awaken sensation in people, contributing to humanities deeper embodiment. She loves helping people relearn basic movements and feel new sensations. Breaking down old movement habits allows for so much potential in the body! Sarah offers private lessons, small group (semi-private) lessons, group classes, corporate classes, retreats, restorative classes, and yoga for injuries. She also offers a unique service of yoga podcasts, audio classes that can be tailored to your needs for you to do in the comfort of your own home.
Sarah also teaches the Feldenkrais method. The Feldenkrais Method is a gentle movement practice that expands the brain's awareness of the body by exploring various movement patterns. Thus, allowing for more freedom and flexibility in both the mind and body. By combining gentle movement with directed attention, you can enhance the function and motion throughout the body, increase your ease and range of motion, improve your flexibility and coordination, and rediscover your innate capacity for graceful, efficient movement. The Feldenkrais® Method is established from principles of physics, biomechanics, and an empirical understanding of learning and human development. By expanding your self-awareness through movement sequences, this method enables you to include untapped muscle groups into your daily movements. Become more aware of your habitual neuromuscular patterns, and progress into new forms of movement.
