We're throwing a summer celebration and you're invited! ☀️🌬️

Join us Friday, August 1 at Battle Creek Park Pavilion for the Okaga Summer-Wind Celebration: Dakota Summer Teachings: a beautiful evening of Dakota art, teachings, music, food and community joy.

Okáǧa is the fertile and invigorating Summer-Wind of the South, and we (Blue Hummingbird Woman & Marlena Myles Art & Design , Artists-in-Residence with MN Parks) are gathering with some incredible guests to honor this season of transformation and growth.

🎶 Here's what's happening:
• 5:30 PM – Flute performance & courtship teachings with Dakota Wind Goodhouse / The First Scout
• 6:30 PM – Musical performance by the legendary Jackie Bird
• 7:30 PM – Dakota Plant Walk with Blue Hummingbird Woman

🌀 All evening long:
• Counting Moons & Winters with The First Scout (pauses during flute performance)
• Dakota Henna Stamps by Graci Horne
• Dakota Coloring Pages
• Augmented Reality Art
• Indigenous Summer Market
• Food trucks: Trickster Tacos LLC, Steven D's, Frybread Factory and Yum Yum Truck!

✨ Free and open to all, bring your friends, family and good vibes!

📍 Battle Creek Park Pavilion
2401 Upper Afton Rd E, Maplewood, MN
