There’s so such thing as “too many hand knit sweaters”!

This might be the most transformational blocking I’ve experienced! Not gonna lie, this one was looking a little wonky off the needles 🥴

Please disregard the remaining ends that need to be woven in and my funky pants that don’t go with a fair isle sweater 😂

If you’re unfamiliar with blocking, it’s a process of soaking your finished knit item, blotting out the excess water, then laying flat in its desired shape. It will relax the fibers and even out your stitches.

Ever wondered how to knit a double brim (or collar)? It’s really easy!

1. Knit the brim twice as long as you want it to be
2. Fold the bottom of the cast on edge to the stitches on the needles.
3. Line up the first stitch of the cast on with the first stitch on your left needle
4. Pick up the bar of the first cast on stitch and knit it together with the first stitch on the left needle.
5. Continue around until you’ve completed all the stitches.

Peace out, winter! ✌️

I will be slowing down my posts about the hats I make for sale as we enter spring and summer! I’m still making them behind the scenes, and will show you more come fall!

During my non-busy season, I’m making some stuff for fun! If you’re not a knitter, hopefully you’ll bear with me! I always toy around with creating a separate knitting account then keeping one for the hats I sell so that I don’t annoy my hat customers (who are my top priority) with random posts about sweaters. Any thoughts?

My Birchwood Beanie is a perfect lightweight beanie for spring! This pattern comes with many options for a brim so you can make it exactly how you want. I knit the double brim version here!

Comment LINK if you want me to send you to Ravelry where you can find the pattern. There’s also a separate bulky version of the pattern if you want an even quicker project!

I used Snefnug here, leftover from another project.

What I loved about knitting the Sophie Hood:

1. The built in icord edge was so easy and looks great.
2. How the project started off fast (with a small number of stitches) and ended fast (because it gets smaller as you go)
3. My yarn choice: Snefnug is such a good texture and so soft!

I have to say, the boys in my family didn’t think this is the cutest project, but they’re also not aware of all the viral patterns that are a must-knit for us knitters 😉

From tropical knitting to knitting in a blizzard 😖 At least I have my cat and a hand knit sweater!

If you’re a knitter, do you bring projects on trips? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. I recently brought my Sophie Hood project on our trip to Puerto Rico because it was easy to transport and easy to memorize and work on the go.

Late winter sunrise was the color palette I had in mind when picking yarn for this sweater!

I’m done with the colorwork yoke and have split for sleeves, now it’s on to knitting the body! I hope to make a little progress on it this weekend, as well as finishing the Sophie Hood I have started!
