Quality research is key to anyone. We all feel strongly about at least one topic. Instead of just trusting someone that heard it from so and so that heard it from so and so, we have to find a trusted source. Knowing where to start can be difficult, and knowing who to trust can be difficult. Whether you are already in the field or interested in becoming a rehabilitation professional, we recommend checking out the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals - IARP website. It is every rehabilitation professional's dream. They offer a ton of peer-reviewed research for all sections and can help you prepare for defending your forensic cases by using the Federal Rule of Evidence. More specifically, they also offer five main sections to help you develop the skills and expertise you might need in the course of your career:
1. Forensic
2. Life Care planning
3. Rehabilitation and disability care management
4. Social security vocational expert
5. Vocational rehabilitation transition services
And for those just starting out, IARP offers two additional sections to help build that network with others in your field – having that connection can be valuable to your career.
1. Young professionals
2. Student section
Within each section, they offer courses, ongoing discussions, webinars, and additional resources.

MEET OUR CO-FOUNDER AND COO!
Introduction
I was born in Detroit, MI but raised in the Northern VA area. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University where I studied Information Systems with a concentration on Business Analysis and WesternGovernors University where I studied Information Security and Assurance. I have had a 12 year I.T. career having worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Genworth Financial, Northrop Grumman, and FIS. Each position was a stepping stone and learning experience for the next. In my roles I wore many hats also acquiring a myriad of professional certifications. However, at certain point I felt a pull on my life in another direction geared more towards service to humanity.
What is something most people don't know about you?
I am a member of FishHawk Fellowship Church .
I Iove to watch martial arts movies and I know how to use Nunchucks.
I am a member of Delta Sigma Pi Business fraternity as well as Kappa Alpha Psi Social Fraternity.
I hold a US government Security Clearance and can handle classified and sensitive information.
How did Guided Life Care Planning Services (GLCPS) come about?
I am a man of many talents. I have always had a knack and passion for business. My wife and I have been discussing venturing out on our own for the better part of the last 10 years. We moved to FL in search of change. Coupling my business acumen, thirst for knowledge, and my wife industry expertise, we mapped out a game plan and a phased approach and took things one step at a time. Thus, GLCPS was born. GLCPS has been the best choice for our family we ever could have made.
What is your "WHY" for doing what you do?
I.T. was a very solid profession and afforded me the opportunity to build a life thus establishing myself and my family. But, I couldn't help but think there was more out there for me and I felt a bit unfulfilled professionally. There is absolutely no feeling greater than how one feels when helping someone other than themselves. We are more alike than we are different and can help each other traverse life’s events in a meaningful and impactful way.
I have a very personal experience and connection to our service offerings. I had a close family member my Aunt, the only person in the world that called me by my middle name which we shared a unique bond. In 1992 she suffered a catastrophic injury from a hit and run car accident which she was a pedestrian walking. She was in a coma for over 2 months, she suffered severe brain trauma. She broke her arms/legs, and pelvis. She also dealt with mental illness and lost over 70% of her memory. After all that and by the grace of God, she was able to survive and go on the long journey to recovery in hopes of regaining some slither of normalcy. My aunt would require care and assistance for the rest of her life. Needless to say this left a life altering effect on our family. Even though I was a bit younger I understood the fact that with this life event came great responsibility for her day-to-day and long term care needs. My aunt lived 25+ years after that fateful day which is no short of a miracle but she is no longer with us today. I do this in her and my grandmother's (who was one of our biggest supporters) honor because I understand what it feels like and can relate to our service offerings in a real way!

After realizing through both professional and personal experience the need for advocacy and clinical understanding for individuals with disabilities. Over time I learned a wealth of knowledge and invaluable experience which provided the opportunity to take the leap of faith and venture out on my own. So I joined together with my college sweetheart, husband, life partner, and best friend (an Information Technology professional/business major) and we set out to save the world one client at a time.
What is your "WHY" for doing what you do?
I believe every person has a purpose. My purpose is to help others who may not be able to help themselves completely.
