Residents at Holiday Maple Downs enjoyed a beautiful day on a mile cruise down the Erie Canal. "My dad had such a great time," shares Lisa, the daughter of one of the residents. "He can't stop talking about it!"

After taking in the scenic views, they had a picnic lunch together and talked about all they saw. "Dad was so happy he went," Lisa adds. "He couldn't believe all he learned!!

Holiday Edgewood Downs is honored to have residents like John and Rod – two proud World War II veterans whose stories remind us of the resilience and sacrifice of their generation.

Rod, a 101-year-old Air Force veteran, served as an aircraft welder, repairing planes. John, a 100-year-old Marine veteran, trained in San Diego and served in Saipan.

Today, these remarkable men call Edgewood Downs home, where their friendship and 200+ years of wisdom continue to inspire us all.

Residents of Holiday Manor at Oakridge took a trip back to Pennsylvania's past, visiting the Fort Hunter Mansion and Park. The beautiful site served as a war fort, a hub for frontier commerce and a private estate.

"It was beautiful weather, and we had a wonderful time," shares Beth, the community's Engage Life Director.

Our Taste Poland event featured classic Central European flavors, including pierogies with caramelized onions, kielbasa with cucumber salad, potatoes and sauerkraut, and sernik, traditional Polish cheesecake.

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

From writing music to combat bullying in schools to clowning around the world, Mo has always found ways to bring people together – and that hasn’t stopped since moving to Holiday Hidden Lakes.

Mo leads twice-monthly music sessions during the community's ice cream socials, sharing her love of guitar, banjo and percussion with neighbors and friends. She also volunteers with her grandson and fellow residents at the local food share, showing that giving back and spreading joy is possible in every season of life.

Today was a wonderful day for Grandparents Day here at Hidden Lakes. We chose to donate stuffed animals to a women's and children's shelter, since most of our residents have much older grandchildren. The stuffed animals still went on their adventures at Hidden Lakes before going to their fur-ever home on Tuesday September 9th, 2025.❤️

We sure hope that the kids at Center for Hope & Safety love the photos we send with each stuffed animal of its adventure, as much as the stuffed animals enjoyed visiting our facility!

What an adventure last week was with The Great Outdoors event! The residents got to enjoy and learn about 6 owls that you would find in Oregon. They learned about all the different features that make owls unique and also the sound of each owl.

The residents also had a blast with sightings of the bears around the facility. They all said it was the highlight of their day.

She is known for always having a smile on her face and always helping out in the community for upcoming events. Darlene loves welcoming new neighbors, helping others feel at home, and building meaningful connections.

What a pup-tastic time we all had at the Whisker & Wags event. It was so much fun! We enjoyed a doggy marathon, obstacle course and a costume contest. The obstacle course was a huge hit with the dogs, until the dogs that won a prize got to enjoy what they got. Everyone had a wonderful time.

La Hacienda Real has been a desire for many weeks from our residence. We finally made it happen and the excitement for it was unmatched!❤️ They all were excited and anxiously waiting for the bus to arrive so they could enjoy Mexican food from one of the best restaurants in town.
Chips and salsa is always a wonderful delight, but the food is always amazing! Definitely will be making this a regular thing every few months!
