Find a Kidney for Amber Mother of 4 Girls in need of your spare kidney. A little bit about my history with my kidney disease. I had one kidney transplant back in 2004 to 2013.

Permanently closed.

My mom passed down FSGS to me and my siblings and my 2 oldest daughters. It ended up failing and now I am currently back on dialysis. Had some complications and so it's took longer to get back on the transplant list. Even though my kidneys didn't work I ended up getting kidney cancer and they had to be removed. Now everything is good and I am now back on the Transplant list looking for a Spare.

I am currently listed on the Nationwide list do to having High Antibodies. If you could be share this and send prayers that would greatly be appreciated.

Our Story

Amber Needs A Kidney Transplant and Your Help I am the mother of three beautiful girl's 23, 21, 14 and married to a wonderful husband of 22 years. At the age of 21, after the birth of my second daughter, my kidneys started to fail and I was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis. Shortly after, I started dialysis. After four years, I received a kidney transplant. With this gift of life, I was able to have a normal life with my family. In February, 2013, I found out that the kidney was failing and that I would need another kidney transplant. I’ve been back on dialysis now for a little over a year, and since July, I have had three major surgeries related to my kidney disease. I’ve been told that there is a much better chance for long term recovery with a live donor. I am blood type O+. If you would like to find out how to be a donor, please contact Diane Davis, Kidney Transplant Service Coordinator at 503-494-1396 and tell her you are interested in testing for Amber Mayhew. Transplantation is lifesaving but very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many transplant related expenses such as travel back and forth to the transplant center, doctor bills, co-pays and the very expensive immunosuppressant medications that I will have to take for the rest of my life. Also, my husband will have to take off of work to be with me when I get the transplant and for care after. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. God Bless you.
