This is one of the most put together articles and I’ve seen on alpha gal. Please read it and save your life or someone else’s. New to me in this article is that chiggers could be part of the problem. I have had alpha gal before they named it. When UVA published its first findings of it was when I knew what was wrong with me. 2002…. I have been affected since then. Back in the day when nobody knew what was going on with me I realize I couldn’t eat meat because when I did I ended up in the ER and anaphylactic shock. They didn’t know what was causing my anaphylactic shock. When I discovered it and spoke to a local Allergist, he said there’s no such thing. I wonder if he remembers because now he does diagnose it, but he doesn’t always tell people how deadly it can be this article should help please inform other people as this man didn’t even realize he had it when he died from a hamburger . A 12‑month randomized trial in postmenopausal women found that eating 50 g of prunes daily (about 5-6 prunes) helped maintain total hip bone mineral density. At the same time, the control group lost about 1.1% over the same period.

That's a lot of prunes for some of us, however! I think occasionally bringing in prunes or other polyphenol-rich blue-purple fruits can be of health benefit overall. Always check with your healthcare practitioner on foods that are best for you!

Many know my family‘s health issues of the last 23 years. I’ve never spoken much about my grandson, who is diagnosed with Authism. Chandler, at the age of three, was not progressing as normal three-year-old (whatever that is ) but we began looking into “normal” health channels, but we were also were looking into functional medicine as another way to help him.
About five years ago I met Katie Tolley NP at a Lyme meeting. She spoke about children and Tick Borne Illness. Katie and I spoke at the end of the meeting; we talked about Chandler and his struggles. She gave me a few suggestions. I explained those suggestions to my son and his wife Molly. Molly began using the suggestions for Chandler and within nine months Chandler was making a lot of progress! Even the doctors at the University of Maryland that were treating Chandler, told Molly to keep doing things the way she was because Chandler was doing really really well.
Today Chandler is thriving in public school as a second grader. His verbal skills improve every day. Chandler has a heart of gold and I’m proud of him and his parents. I’m grateful for Katie Tolley NP. She shared some of her knowledge with me that evening. Now my dream of many years is to help parents with special needs children find hope close to home. A few months ago a mutual friend of Katie’s and mine introduced us again. I explained my passion and Katie explained hers to me. I would love to do the same with all of you!
