Meet one of our founders: Megan
Megan is often described as “sparkly ball of energy” & maintains the life philosophy that kindness should be spread like confetti (or glitter if you know her personally). Megan has loved all things dance, cheer & fitness related since as long as she can remember. Though she has only pole danced since 2022, Megan knew she had found her calling to defy gravity through a challenging & unique avenue & became a certified instructor only a few months after her pole journey began.
Megan has overcome many areas of adversity ranging from sexual trauma, opioid dependence, obesity, mental illness, attempted su***de, divorce, severe medical issues (over 30 surgeries & a lifelong autoimmune disease) as well as a multitude of other life challenges.
However no matter what life threw at her, Megan managed to maintain hope & just kept going. She found the only way to get up was to look up, so she did just that. Megan has found her life’s purpose is to help others by empowering them to believe in themselves. Nothing brings her greater joy than watching someone heal themselves from within, while channeling their emotions into movement. Helping other women become their own safe space is her main priority.
Megan wholeheartedly believes the artistic sport of pole fitness encapsulates the ultimate connection with one’s body, mind and soul which allows her to reconnect & evolve as a person daily and she thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge with her students.
In addition to being a certified Pole Instructor, Megan has a variety of certifications ranging from American Council on Exercise (A.C.E) Group Fitness, Zumba & A.F.F.A Personal Trainer. She was raised with a “cradle to college” Catholic private school education (you can imagine how well pole dancing went over with her parents) yet knew she had stumbled upon what would allow her to become the best version of herself.
She graduated with a degree in Communications from Loyola Marymount University & implemented a Balanced Life Campaign while in attendance. Surprise fact-Megan is also a certified HVAC Service Technician who was recently honored as one of Ferguson’s “tradeswomen of the year”
She is a voracious reader who continues her quest for knowledge in all areas of mental health & wellness as well as their impact on how the human body & mind process trauma. She is most known for her genuine love of life, family (5 kiddos & hubby), teaching, practicing yoga, palm trees & encouraging others to live their best lives while being there to cheer them on.
Megan absolutely adores animals, spending time in nature & hopes to one day fulfill her dream of owning a pet raccoon. She strives one day to eliminate the stigma surrounding pole fitness and to help guide women into their personal power through pole and V3nus V3ntures.
