Groh Educational experts Anne and Jodi started grOH! with a mission, to make play EASIER for families!

They found the best way to make play easier was to take the work off of families' plates and put the work onto the environments. DC designers building play-forward spaces to help your child learn & grow 🧠 💪

After school energy is no joke.

Active play can help kids regulate, release, and reset after a full day. When their space supports that, the rest of the evening can feel A LOT easier for everyone 😊

This is our first playroom with a fort in the CENTER of the room! It’s a great way to create circuits leaving your kiddos with endless options for active play 🌟 🌈

In this house, we craft! 🎨🫟🖍️ We’ve tried and tested so many different brands and materials, we’d basically consider ourselves craft connoisseurs. We’ve put all of our favorite supplies into an easy shopping list for you!

Here’s your gentle reminder: More toys ≠ better play.

A thoughtful playroom supports independence, focus, and creativity (without adding more 🧡)

Save this if you’re rethinking your space ✨

Four kids. A 10-year age gap. And one room that had to work for all of them. 😅

The toddler needed floor space. The tweens needed a reason to put the screens down. Somehow, it all fit.

When this family told us all four were in here playing together (for hours!) that was the best moment. 🧡

Which one did you need permission for the most? Well, consider this your official permission slip ✨

To throw it away. To donate it. To not overthink it.

The goal isn’t a fuller playroom… it’s a better one 🧡

We tend to separate art and science… but actually, they relate to each other more than you think.

Mixing colors = experimentation
Building something = engineering
Trying again when it doesn’t work = problem-solving

Kids can test ideas, explore cause and effect, and start to understand how things work — all through play.

So when it looks like “just crafting”… there’s actually a lot more going on ✨

We always try to include both active play AND a maker’s space area in all of our playrooms.

Because kids need somewhere to get their energy out AND somewhere to slow down and create. Development doesn’t happen in just one mode of play.

As Hannah Montana says: “It’s the best of both worlds” ✨
