“Why do massage therapists charge so much per hour?”

A question we hear often — and a great one.

The hour you spend on the table is only a fraction of the work your therapist does. Massage is incredibly physically demanding, so we’re limited in how many clients we can safely and effectively treat each day.

Behind the scenes, there’s a lot more happening: endless loads of laundry (yes, every client gets fresh, clean sheets), marketing, scheduling, cleaning, client notes, and bookkeeping. Add to that the overhead no one sees — rent, taxes, insurance, continuing education, and the steady supply of oils, tools, and linens that keep a practice running.

And unlike traditional jobs, massage therapists don’t get paid vacation or paid sick days. When we’re sick or recovering from an injury, we simply can’t work. Our rates help us save for those unavoidable days so we can continue caring for you long-term.

But here’s the real heart of it: regular massage isn’t just a service — it’s an investment in your body’s long-term well-being.

For many clients, consistent treatment reduces chronic pain, improves mobility, calms the nervous system, and restores a quality of life they thought they’d lost. The value of waking up without that constant ache, moving without fear of a flare-up, or finally sleeping through the night is priceless.

When you book a session, you’re not paying for just an hour of massage; you’re supporting skilled, thoughtful care that helps you feel and function better every day.

Hey everyone, I want to be transparent with you all about something important. Recently, my website was flagged by GlossGenius because I was still advertising CBD-containing massage products. To comply with their policies, I removed those listings and reworded my service descriptions. My website is now back up and working properly after making these changes.

Why GlossGenius Flagged My Site 🚩

GlossGenius currently restricts how CBD and other cannabinoid products can be promoted on their platform. To stay in full compliance with their rules, I was advised to:
• Remove any service descriptions referencing CBD products
• Reword my product and service descriptions to avoid direct CBD terminology

The Legal Reality in Texas (As of Now) 📝

• CBD is not banned in Texas. Hemp-derived CBD is still legal as long as it contains 0.3% Delta-9 THC or less by dry weight.
• This matches the standards of the CBD Clinic Level 5 topicals I have been professionally licensed to distribute and use.
• However, the legal landscape is getting stricter. In September 2025, Governor Abbott issued an executive order tightening regulations.

What I Legally Can and Cannot Do Now. 🧐

What I CAN still do:
• Continue to Use topical hemp-derived products (oils, balms, ointments) during massage sessions as long as they meet legal standards and are for external use only. (CBD Clinic LEVEL 5- MAX RELIEF meets those standards.)
• Offer them as “hemp-based” or “plant-derived therapeutic topicals,” in wording that complies with GlossGenius policy.
• Let clients choose whether they want these topicals used during their session.

What I CANNOT do:
• I cannot advertise or list anything as “CBD massage” or “CBD products” on GlossGenius.
• I cannot sell any consumable CBD items anymore — and I have officially stopped selling all ingestible CBD products, including Charlotte’s Web CBD gummies for sleep, recovery, & wellness due to the executive order of the Governor recently.


I want you to feel informed, safe, and confident in the services you receive. Transparency is important to me. Everything I continue to use in my practice is professionally sourced, compliant with Texas law, and safe for topical use. Thank you all for your understanding and support as these regulations shift. I’m committed to offering you a relaxing, therapeutic experience with complete honesty and professionalism.

🍂 Fall Weather Reminder 🍂

With the cooler temps and changing seasons, those sneaky colds and sniffles tend to make their rounds. I know I have a cancellation policy in place, but if you start feeling under the weather the day before your appointment, please just let me know 💛
I’d always rather extend grace than end up paying the price and getting sick myself. Being out of work costs me more than a 50% fee ever could….and your health (and mine!) are worth more than that.
