ATTENTION SCOUT LEADERS and SCOUTING AMERICA SCOUTS!!!

HealthcareSTAT is excited to begin offering Wilderness and Remote First Aid! This is an exceptional course to complete prior to going to camp or going out on the back country trek.

Wilderness and Remote First Aid Course

Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Scouting America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.

Prerequisites: Must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification.

Course length is 16 hours and will take place over more than one date.

We have some more exciting news to share!

Are you ready?

It's crazy cool.

HealthcareSTAT is now a authorize training provider for American Red Cross! We will now begin the process of getting training materials to offer courses in PALS and ALS/ACLS for healthcare providers.

We will keep you posted, more great updates to come!

According to the National Drowning Prevention Alliance, more than 4,500 people die from unintentional drowning each year in the United States.

Today is World Drowning Prevention Day — a reminder that water safety saves lives. Here are a few ways you can help promote water safety at home or in your community:

- Installing barriers controlling access to water
- Teaching swimming, water safety & safe rescue skills
- Teach Longfellow's WHALE Tales (in English and Spanish) which can be found here: https://rdcrss.org/459IG1Q
- Look in the comments for additional resources to learn more about how you can stay safer in, on and around the water.
