Did you know that the American Heart Association champions many topics that play a part in creating or preventing cardiovascular disease and stroke (that aren't these direct topics themselves)? I did NOT know until I took a deeper look at the organizations in my community working towards the total health and wellness of their citizens.
One way the AHA is creating an equitable health impact across all ethnicities and ages is their work in leading breakthroughs in science and technology. The advancements coming out of this research will touch millions of lives and save just as many!
Check out this inspirational story on 3 siblings who all had heard transplants before the age of 3. The AHA has funded countless research on the sibling's condition - a rare form of heart failure called restrictive cardiomyopathy.
Today and every day I urge you to - know your numbers and your risk and use the resources available to you in your community, from your healthcare providers and through organizations like the American Heart Association & World Heart Federation
