Happy Friday! It was a refreshing day today. I don't believe Ive mentioned that Ive had the recent opportunity to serve on the board of postpartum support international TX chapter . A great organization supporting the perinatal and postpartum space.

Today was our first meet and greet organized by and it was wonderful. We met many perinatal providers from around Texas and got to learn about their amazing work and resources. Excited for what is to come from and for our chapter ! It's the little things that reinforce why I love the work that I do.

SIX clients today (my max) or I can’t function at home properly and my kids don’t have a ride home. Joking aside…some might see this room and think/say:
- it’s a mess… but I see comfort in that giant teddy bear ( thank you to my daughter for donating her once loved possession) sharing comfort with others
- how does play help, they need to just know to follow rules… but I hear big feelings coming out that have not been said out loud and see their little faces relax

Today was an anticipated longer day but a great day! Thankful for challenging days like this where Im humbled and remember how rewarding this work is!

Happy Tuesday, Instagram!

Super excited to share a new addition to the ARTE team. Xochilt Vásquez, LPC is EMDR certified and has extensive knowledge in working with children and adults who have experienced trauma . Xochilt and her practice, Adaptive Minds, out of Laredo, TX are partnering with ARTE to bring awareness of perinatal mental health and childhood anxiety to our border communities. Xochilt will soon be accepting UMR, Aetna, Cigna, BCBS and Spring Health EAP clients .

Happy Wednesday! Sharing some exciting news for all Texas LMSWs. I am preparing to start offering group supervision very soon. I remember starting this process and feeling anxious about what the next steps would be in my LCSW journey. Having found support in my supervisor and other colleagues was a wonderful feeling.

If this sounds like some of your experiences, Id love to set up a brief call to chat about your career goals and see if would we be a great fit. I am passionate about helping LMSWs grow in their profession and build their skills in a compassionate learning environment. Starting August 15th I will be offering group supervision. Happy Saturday!

This week has been a busy one! We did not want to end the weekend, however, without sharing the importance of yesterday. May 3rd is Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis Awareness Day. Pregnancy and Postpartum psychosis is a serious mental health condition that can affect women during pregnancy, after loss, shortly after loss or up to a year postpartum. More detail in comments!

With that said, at ARTE our mission is to help clients build strengths, develop clarity and find calm. In working with women and perinatal mood disorders our mission aids us in helping women develop understanding of their symptoms without fear of being shamed. It is for this reason that we are continuously working to build programs that meet various needs within our community.

Our most recent pilot program was launched by our fantastic therapist, Wendy . Families with babies 0 to 18 months and toddlers 18 mo to 2 years old were provided:

🌺 Knowledge on social emotional development for baby/toddler
🌺 Comforting spaces to share with others and build community
🌺 Various activities/tools to incorporate at home
🌺 Skills on the importance of developing a healthy self care routine for moms

We are thrilled to share that on May 17th we are starting TWO new classes for moms and babies/toddlers.The cost is $65 for all 4 weeks. This cost includes :

❤️4 weeks of classes covering topics related to fostering social emotional development
❤️Self care discussions for mom
❤️Supportive environment to build community

💜BONUS💜 Participants will receive a mom and baby mindfulness journal upon the completion of the course. This journal was written by Lilly Alaniz to help mothers in their journey of fostering the mother-child bond!
