You know when you get a kiddo that you really need to talk to, that really needs to get some thoughts and feelings out, but who is too: embarrassed, angry, emotional, nervous, shut down, etc. to be able to talk? Sometimes play or art can work here, but they’re not always a fit.

Enter: the white board and dry erase marker! A suuuuper simple yet magical tool for communicating with students when our usual methods are a flop. It’s not fancy, but it is an excellent tool to have at the ready. Students love writing on this, and once you get the communication flowing, there’s so much more you can do on them! (goal setting, CBT triangle, affirmations, square breathing, etc)
