Meet Me Mondays! 🎉

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Laura Spears, Co-Owner and Program Director of SarahCare at Encino Park! 🌟

Laura is a retired teacher with 30 years of experience in the classroom 📚—her heart for guiding and encouraging others has always been part of who she is. She’s also been a devoted caregiver to her son for the past 13 years after his injury in the Army, giving her a deep understanding of compassion, strength, and family care. ❤️

When she’s not working, Laura is all about people—she loves being social, laughing, and having fun. Whether it’s swapping stories, sharing a joke, or just being present with others, she brings joy and positivity wherever she goes.

We’re so proud to have Laura leading our programs here at SarahCare at Encino Park, and we can’t wait for our members to feel the warmth, energy, and genuine care she brings every day. 💕

We had so much fun at the Let’s Go Senior Expo this past Tuesday! 🎉 Meeting new people, sharing laughs, and spreading the word about the upcoming opening of SarahCare at Encino Park made it such a special day. 💙✨

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about our adult day health center. We can’t wait to welcome seniors and families into our lively, multicultural community where every day is filled with friendship, activities, and joy. 🤗

We would also like to thank our good friend, Nancy Hester, for supporting us and stopping by our booth! It was so good to see you. Thank you for cheering us on!

Being a caregiver is tough job….

I know many of you can relate to how hard it can be as a carer to get time out. And when you do, it can be interrupted at any minute because you are never really “off” as such. A phone call can change things in a heartbeat.

I’ve said before that I like to keep things real because I know a lot of what you see on the internet is a highlight reel.

A photo like this makes me look like I don’t have a care in the world. What you don’t see is the stress several calls about a family member caused minutes after I checked in to the hotel on Friday afternoon and the following morning at breakfast. You don’t see that we cut our day in the city short because we were needed.

Don’t get me wrong, I am lucky to do what I do. Lots of people don’t have the opportunities, or the support, so I know I am lucky. But also, don’t think that pretty photos are always the full picture.

Caring is tough and if you are struggling please know I see you and I get that it can be hard to see beyond the current minute.

Hubby and I had a great stay in the city.
This was a prize I won, but don’t worry, my measuring tape was with me and I checked out the gorgeous accessible accommodation too.
