Hello y’all, i’m a special-needs mom +2. Our oldest who is 7 Has a rare chromosome depletion syndrome. (MAND syndrome - 2q23.1 microdeletion). We call him our 2qutie. “Nickname for the kiddos missing this 2q chromosome”. Some of our kiddos symptoms are epilepsy, autism, as well as intellectual delays. We’ve spent countless hours and too much money trying to discover ways to fulfill our child sensory needs. This is why we have created Sweet Retreat homemade aromatherapy play-dough kits. Homemade Play-Dough has always been a big hit in our house. I grew up and have fond memories of my mother making this exact recipe with me. Play-dough provides a great sensory retreat, which can be used to help children who struggle with sensory processing disorder. Sensory seeking “or any child or adult”. They can squish, squash, pound and gloop the playdough to give themselves a lovely sensory experience. Play dough Increases curiosity and knowledge

The next time your child is playing with play dough watch how they manipulate the play dough, how the experiment with the way they move their hands and use the tools to mould the play dough to get their desired effects and shapes. They might take two different colours of play dough and mix them together (yes, the thought of this makes me cringe too!) By doing this, they are showing curiosity and they may start asking various questions which would help increase their knowledge and help overall development.
