Tonight, the Guyana Jungle commune event with Jim Jones started popping up in my feeds. It pulled me back into analyzing my own childhood cult experiences.

To make a long story short, many of the leaders involved with Jim Jones were also involved in the organization that I was raised in. Fortunately for me and my family, there was no "Kool-Aid" scenario involved.

I wrote this article many years ago at the request of a family member. The video link that I embedded in the story definitely shines a whole different light on the events in Guyana.

I was out walking the trails on Camp Mabry today following a night of heavy rain. I failed to think about all the mud and puddles I might come across during my walk, but of course, I decided to continue my normal 2-hour pathway.

I managed to keep from slipping on many of the muddy areas, and just before I came out of the woods, literally, I tried to cross the last muddy area. I did not make it without slipping in the mud and landing on my back in the mud. If that was not bad enough, I stood up and fell again. I finally crawled my way out of the mud pit and kept going.

Sometimes our journey will be filled with obstacles, which can give us reasons to quit; however, we should always press on towards our goal. So what if we fall down and get mud all over us?!

I noticed today that my latest video on TikTok was removed for violating community guidelines. In a time when you can not see naked women and acts of s*x on TikTok, being banned for having ideas about this reality seems quite odd.

To be honest, that only helps to strengthen the fact that I was hitting a truth nerve, and that the ideas I was discussing may be too close for comfort for others. I posted this in an article on many platforms as well, and none of them banned the content.

Sure does make you think, doesn't it?!
