Covid infections are on the rise! In fact, Bexar county is now advised to wear masks inside.
Something new to know....the FDA has given pharmacists permission to prescribe Paxlovid to appropriate patients.
We've all heard of the rebound symptoms with Paxlovid but did you know that sometimes extending the treatment for a full 10 days can avoid those rebound symptoms!

NY Times published a great article recently on delaying or eliminating the development of dementia!
Here are some of the highlights:

- There are about ~13 modifiable factors in your life to reduce your chances of dementia or delay it.

- The Lancet Commision that deals with dementia prevention identifies hearing loss correction as the single most important factor to correct.

- Vision correction is one of the newer factors to correct.

- A few issues are not as easy to correct: exposure to air pollution and lower education levels.

- Other other dementia risk factors can be managed by your primary care physician: high blood pressure, obesity, smoking and depression

- Modifying some or all of these risk factors can prevent or delay dementia in up to 40-62% of people.

Of course doing this sooner than later gives you the best chance for a healthy future.

Also, I’m beyond excited to see how great this historic door with a patina paint job will look after some TLC!

Next up countertops and interior paint.

We have walls and primer!
So much of this rehab has been fixing issues that didn’t really affect the look of Bluebonnet (foundation and roof). But now the clinic is starting to come together!
It has been important to us to keep as much historical feel as possible and I found it interesting to see these double hung windows with the cord and weight balance system built into the walls 😊
