I’m going to call today’s writing, Between two and three.
Step two says that we came to believe in a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Step three says that we made a decision to turn our will and our life over to the care of God.
Through my studies this morning in the Search for Significance book by Robert McGee chapter eleven is called “The Holy Spirit our source of change.” Let that sink in for a minute.
I had to roll this around in my brain. Have you ever tasted something, and you can almost taste it, but you just can’t put your finger on it until the person cooking tells you want it is your tasting? That is kind of how I was this morning.
Let me continue by saying the Holy Spirit is what Jesus said was who He was sending to be our helper. (John 14:16-17) “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.”
The Holy Spirit is who follows through us like living water. (John 7:37-39)
7 characteristics and gifts from the Holy Spirit:
Wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
Now I had to look up the definition of fortitude and piety which this is want I found.
Fortitude: strength of mind that enables a person to encounter danger or bear pain or adversity with courage. Which you can find biblical support in Deu 31:6.
Piety: the quality of being religious or reverent. A heart devoted to God. Which is biblically supported in Matt 6:24 and Deu 6:5.
Step two: The Holy Spirit is the power that restores me to sanity. And sanity is wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
Step three: I need to turn toward the Holy Spirit for my care and who I need to turn my will and life over to.
I hope this was enlightening to you as it was reminding and uplifting to me this morning. Please like us and send to as many people as you can. WE WANT TO REACH EVERYONE SO THAT NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND.
