Postural control and postural management are not the same.
And understanding that difference can change how you support your child.
If your child has cerebral palsy, hypotonia, a neuromuscular condition, or motor difficulties, you’ve probably already asked yourself:
👉 Does my child need to improve postural control?
👉 Or do they need postural management to prevent deformities and increase comfort?
The scientific evidence is clear:
📌 Postural control is developed through action and meaningful tasks.
📌 Postural management protects the body when it cannot yet support itself independently.
It’s not black or white. 👉 Many children need both, at different times.
At Kyrios, we understand that this isn’t about promising miracles. It’s about supporting informed decisions:
sometimes we strengthen control,
sometimes we provide support to protect,
and often we do both, depending on where the child is at that moment.
