You don’t have to wait for a crisis to seek counseling.

The stigma around mental health has shifted, but many people still wonder if they “qualify” for support.

Here’s the truth:
Therapy isn’t about being “broken.”
It’s not about lying on a couch while someone silently analyzes you.
It’s not about getting advice or being judged.

Real counseling is collaborative. It’s a space to feel seen and heard, to make sense of your experience, and to learn new ways of relating to yourself and others. You don’t need a specific diagnosis or a certain kind of story to benefit. If you’re navigating a transition, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just want something to shift—therapy can help.

As a trauma-informed therapist, my role is to hold space, offer perspective, and help you reconnect with your own inner wisdom.

If that kind of support sounds like what you’re needing, I’d love to connect.

Happy Mother's Day

To the cycle-breakers, the nurturers, the grieving hearts, the late bloomers, the fiercely protective, the quietly exhausted, the chosen family builders, and the ones mothering themselves—

I see you. I honor you. You are enough.

Motherhood isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s layered, sacred, messy, and often misunderstood. Today, and every day, may you feel empowered to define it on your own terms.

I've been reading On Our Best Behavior by . I'm only a couple of chapters in and already I have found so many excerpts I want to share. This book is a thoughtful reflection on the pressures we face as women, wives, and/or mothers in a patriarchal society.

While this book discusses the seven deadly sins, it is not a book encouraging or framing lessons through a Christian framework. The first chapter is dedicated to expanding our understanding of the origins of monotheism with an all-powerful male God and the disappearance of divine feminine worship.

So far this book speaks from the viewpoint of a cis gender heterosexual woman's lived experience, but I applaud the author's acknowledgement of intersectional feminism and the way other marginalized groups are negatively impacted by the patriarchy as well.

The words I've shared here are from Chapter 2 on the sin of Sloth.

When you're doing the work to heal yourself you're creating a ripple into the future. On your healing journey you realign yourself with your authenticity, worth, and self-appreciation. THEN, when you're built back up, you can give to others and change the trajectory of our family tree. You deserve to heal for your lineage because one day you'll be someone's ancestor.

Check your voter registration. If you're not registered to vote, the deadline is less than 3 weeks away (October 7th). Visit and click the link in their bio to find out how to register or to check your registration. Article below is from Texas Tribune 👇🏽

Reposted Texas voters have less than a month to register for the Nov. 5 election.

But as county elections officials work to get more people registered, more than 1 million voters have been deemed ineligible. That includes people who moved out of state or are dead — and it’s a routine process.

Gov. Greg Abbott issued a press release last month touting the removal of ineligible voters, claiming some of them were possibly noncitizens. Experts quickly warned the governor’s framing could be used to undermine trust in elections. Election officials have found no evidence of widespread voting by people who are not citizens in U.S. elections.

Tap the link in our bio to check your voter registration status and update your address if you've moved since the last election.

The Texas Tribune, ProPublica and Votebeat want to hear from Texas voters who believe their registrations have been erroneously canceled. Let us know if you find issues with your voter registration by emailing us at community@texastribune.org.

"What we speak becomes the house we live in."
- Persian poet, Hafiz

I don't know what it is lately. Maybe it's because I've been having more conversations about ADHD or I'm having to work harder to accommodate my symptoms, but I have been fired up about the way we label ADHD for a while.

I'm not a fan of anything being labeled as "disordered". It implies that something is wrong. Or that the individual isn't good enough.

Language matters when we're labeling ourselves and our children. Negative labels become our reality if we believe them.

I prefer the term "neurodiverse". It allows for us to have different abilities. Just as we have different eye colors, or skin color, or artistic ability we can have different strengths and areas for growth in our cognitive functioning.

None of it is wrong. It's what diversity looks like. Celebrate your particular flavor of brain spice. It's more fun that way.

Happy International Women's Day!

I hope today and every day you celebrate being a woman. Celebrate the unique flow of your body lines. Your features that connect you to your lineage. I hope you recognize the power you hold.

I am grateful for all the powerful women who show up in my life. To all those who came before me, those who walk alongside me, and those who are the future.

The poem is from the account The Unapologetically Brown Series. The account is no longer active, but I wanted to give credit for the words.
